You can only make that argument about a few games.

And it makes no sense in Europe. The age of sexual consent in Europe here is  around 14 to 16.

The only reason a guy wouldn't be attracted to a sexy 16 year old, is if they're into men instead of women.

    Your agenda is showing
    reported

if you're not a fan of these games, just leave
Why don't you chill a wee bit? Your agenda IS showing, and I for one have always been happy that MMORPG.com has been one of the internet places where this ridiculously pointless twitter hatefest hasn't showed up so much. Lets keep it that way.

Anyway, I'm in favour of anything involving equal and fair representation of women and female characters in games. But I honestly don't get where these calls for censorship are coming from. Although I'm not into the kind of games that this company is making (don't own a playstation either), it all looked pretty tame in the end.

Even in Europe we're getting a number of games censored, even though at least in Belgium, I've seen adverts in the street of real women that are objectified or at least more nude than what is seen in those games.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

It's true though. In Europe we're more open about this. Everyone knows men aren't just magically attracted to women when they turn 21 like in the US. Every guy in this thread here knows it, every study knows it.

Boys start to get sexually attracted to women age 16+. Below that you have issues. But being attracted to a young woman, is perfectly normal.

In the middle ages, 16 was the age most women gave birth.

I know I said I was leaving but I have to point out that at least in the U.S. even though consent laws vary from state to state it is highly illegal to sexualize anyone under the age of 18. THAT is where the issue lies.

You do realize many women want to be objectified right? https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/in-love-and-war/201211/do-women-want-be-objectified

Why do you think women wear high heels? Because they're so comfortable to walk in? No, because raising your heels makes your behind more pronounced, it literally objectifies you.

What do you think a vibrator is? It's literally objectification of men.

    Objectification is biology.

Should a woman or man be objectified if they don't want to? NO.

Is objectification a normal biological function? YES.

Ahh if that's the case then I can see why they are being censored. The West, particularly the U.S., will always err on the side of caution when it comes to that.

@Aelious: That whole video is so fake it makes Milli Vanilli look like the Beatles!

So from 0:43 - 1:07 in the video wasn't an actual game? Look at the effects and animation that go along with the touch screen, along with the progress bar. I think it's hilarious it even exists but still... looks like a real game to me.

Yep, I have family in the US. They pointed out to me how insane it is that a 19 year old can go to jail for having intercourse with an 17 year old. Pure unadulterated idiocy at work.

Western society is so spoiled i bet money that if a stranger sees someone bathing their infant he/she would yell Incest! But again, its easier to blame video games so they dont have to chase real predators out there. It is the same problem with "violent video games and guns"

    /sigh

Well since OP hasn't answered me on what particular game that was I'm still going with very clever fake. Between the voice "acting" and the frenzied jack-off/nipple-twist "gameplay" I'm pretty sure I am right.

If I'm wrong then... I don't know how I will feel about myself as a gamer. At least I'm not as pathetic as whoever jacks off plays those games?

Guess what? It's already happened. A Wal-mart a few years ago called the police because someone brought in some pictures to be developed that showed 2 children bathing. They though it was kiddy porn!

Off-Topic: It's funny when a teenage couple can have legal sex then they have to interrupt because the boy has dinged faster. They should play Guild Wars 2 meanwhile I guess.

I really respect those whom are not willing to bend their art due to legality. I think changing their product to cover a broader age group is plain selling-out.

    What an immature comment.
    Seriously.

First of all most of the character in those games (like in many Manga) depict children about 10 years old, not teenagers.
Secondly, the reason why we have a lower age of consent in Europe is to allow teenagers to have sex with each others without being prosecuted, that doesn't mean that a relationship between a 30 y/o man and a 14 y/o girl is ok, far from it.

Regarding your last comment I can only face palm at it.
In those games there are not just girls but also boys.......it is not about gender, it is about age (though for you it looks like it is not an issue).
I find it disturbing that any 20+ years old male wants to play games which depict young girls/boys characters with subtle sexual innuendos.
I wouldn't throw those kind of accusation around if I was you, if you like those kind of games,  probably you are the one having a problem with your sexuality.

I think it's idiotic and disgusting that pedophilia is glorified and defended, but hey if that's your culture then I'm not going to ask you to stop, in your own backyard.

In my culture we feel that a line between minors and adults has to be drawn somewhere.

Where a hard line is drawn is when minors or depictions of minors are presented sexually. That's not generally acceptable in my culture. Those games focus on child sex acts - the rubbing of the breasts and jacking off, to get the underage character off. It crosses a line here.

I would point out that studio Ghibli does depict children nude in some movies, but not sexualized and those movies aren't banned. They're published by Disney. This isn't about nudity. It's about sexualization of minors.

I'm glad they feel their child porn is unwelcome here. So long Idea Factory. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
    Awesome post.

While I am personally way more liberal, this isn't about me, it is about others and why there needs(?) to be drawn a line somewhere.

You think it's abnormal that a man or woman (let's not forget these games are very popular among women too) might find having a game with characters under the age of 20 fun to play?

    Let's stick to the subject.

This topic is about Idea Factory, so the Neptunia series.

    You think this is disturbing?

I think it is amazing. It is cute, very well done, and I have 0 problem with these games.

the funny thing is that Japan make those games and they dont have those "sexuality problems" you mention, not in the same scale. The west dont make those games, yet their brains are the one making all the wrong calculations and being affected by it with stirrings and all that crap. Aside from fan service, they are games with role playing elements, story, combat, etc etc. If you buy a video game that shows a younger character wearing inappropriate clothes, you can always return the game if you dont like it. But if you cant play the game because you cant stop looking at the skimpy clothes on the girl, then the problem is you, not the game.

Yes in fact I do find it abnormal when the character looks like 10 y/o and has a DD breast size.
    You don't?

I don't think about those things. I just play the games.

    I don't play DOAX3 and go "I wonder if she's 16 or 18".

I don't play neptunia and go "I wonder if these pixels represent a 16 year old"

I don't look at bouguereau paintings and go "I wonder if she's of legal age in the United States"

I don't know what happened to Western society, that all art needs to be questioned and attacked.

I don't look at this famous painting and wonder if it's "legal" to have intercourse with her. Not everyone is like that, not everyone is wondering about those things constantly.

We just want to play games, and enjoy art, without the drama about the age of the character you play, and if her skirt is 10 cm too low or too high, or if her breasts are too big or too small.

They are pixels for crying out loud.

I actually agree with you there, people spend waaaay too much energy focused on what other people do. Honestly, if you enjoy those type of games then play them, if you don't then don't. That goes for everything, not just these types of games. You can say that they are borderline child porn and I'd be lying if a small part of me didn't agree with that but ultimately cartoon characters have no rights or feelings on the matter and so I'm not really sure who they hurt.

I have to get some Fallout 4 in before I go to bed so a quick question to @Kiyoris :

If Star Citizen created a planet called Manga that had a race of 10k year old human/cat/octopus hybrids that looked like 12yo with massive breasticles for the females and banana-hammocks the size of greatswords for the males would you help fund it? If for say $50 you got a hanger that looked like a scene from Neptunia and a starship full of K-Pop looking crew members? Would that change your mind? :)
