Article here has a piece of info I didn't see in your link. "hopes to prevent companies from hiring their own unionless staff". I can see having a problem with AAA companies doing this, altho realistically AAA are the ones getting big name actors, but what about an indie that can't afford a voice actor from the union, because there are certain rates you are "forced" to charge by the union? If you're not in the union, you couldn't voice act legally? A game like Bastion would be a lot worst, if they couldn't hire the narator, or if they only could if he was in this union and it cost them whatever times more, making them take funds from other areas.
