For those looking for a little extra info on CoE check out Elyria Echos (link below) a fan run sight. Its a great place to catch up on all the stuff we've learned about on the CoE forums!http://elyriaecho.com/
@Falendor Thank you
so much for making this thread
My name is
VictoriaRachel and I am the author of said fan site. It is my first
time doing anything of the sort, and I am loving it so far.
Chronicles of Elyria sounds so intriguing and is just the sort of thing I have been
hoping for. For me living worlds that you can really engage with are the key to pulling me in. Having robust crafting systems, interesting story and support for a roleplaying community keep me there. This game seems to be checking all those boxes so far. Equally as important as the game though are the people involved, luckily we are off to a good start there! The
community following the game have been so supportive of each other,
as this thread demonstrates. The developers are also really hands on
with the community which is great to see, especially as they
genuinely seem to actually take comments on-board.
As I
am new to writing, blogging and fan sites I am always open to ideas,
comments or even straight up criticism. You have to know what you are
doing wrong to fix it after all. So feel free to add anything you
think of to this thread or drop me a PM.
VictoriaRachel your fan site is elegant and well written. I'm not one to go to fan sites as I like to spend time on official sites and guild sites I may participate on. Your site on the other hand is one that I don't mind frequenting.
@VictoriaRachel without a doubt (and i already told you this) your work is polished, simple and clean. Much like Sabbicat i also never go to this kind of "work" on the web, but both because the game in development really seems good and because sometimes information might get lost in so many topics and threads filled with community member enthusiasm, your Echo comes in to help exactly in what the forum was lacking: a place to both summarize the information announced and also, help interpret that information according to all the most subtle tips that you and the other members are able to figure out!
For those that are unwilling to go through all the website information, or for those that get confused by the dev journals, visit Elyria Echo for that explanation you needed!
Thank you for all the kind words. The blog is still going strong and is still a blast to write. It is so much fun getting to combine two hobbies. If you have been thinking about trying to make a fan site but not sure about it, give it a go!
The latest addition to the blog (as well as our regular posts) is a new Glossary page. Found here: http://elyriaecho.com/glossary/
I thought that one of the things that is hardest to get a hang of when finding out about a new game is learning all the new words that come with it. Conversations that seem normal to people who have been following the game for a while seem completely alien to newer community members. Chronicles of Elyria is all about community and discussion at the moment so if you see a word you do not know check out the glossary.
Also if I have missed a word, something you have seen and just don't get, let me know. You can post here or of course head over to @ElyriaEcho (https://twitter.com/elyriaEcho/) and tweet us.
