New laptop, where is the best place to purchase

MMOman101MMOman101 Member UncommonPosts: 1,705
Looking to get a new laptop, won't be used for gaming.  Not looking for a used laptop.  Is there a good site to go to?  I have not bought a laptop in over 5 years.  Any advice on places to purchase would be greatly appreciated.

“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”

I would check the regulars. Newegg, Amazon, TigerDirect ETC.  I recently purchased a new laptop (for gaming) but I got it from Fry's electronics in store.  They price match and strangely enough the laptop I was looking for beat online competitors by 50 bucks.

I think you can find a good deal almost anywhere depending on what exactly you're looking for.

Yeah Fry's is amazing in person but terrible online. So if you're not lucky enough to be near Fry's check out Newegg or amazon.

Walmart.  I got a great deal on my Acer there.  However, they're not above carrying junk.

    Maybe I got lucky.
