Honestly, capitalism cannot work well in an MMO. I am also a believer in capitalism, but it just doesn't work gameplay wise.
Money/Wealth is generated from producing. In an MMO, the way to produce is to invest time. For something like a game the reward is enjoyment. The problem is investing time for enjoyment is not a good model compared to investing time for greed. In essence it only works if the game is something more than a game which it is not.
