Should Blizz scrap HotS and try again?

scrap it?  LOL No.  the engine is fine.  They need to decide if they want it to be a real eSport and if so then add complecity with items and in game gold like true MOBAs.

I stopped playing mobas because i dont like point and click. Plus, after the death of Dawngate and Infinite Crisis, if i have to pick a moba it would be HotS. But i wont because i dont like Point and click. For that reason alone, my moba of choice is Game of Glory on steam, it plays a bit like HotS but you can equip all sorts of weapons and use them in real time, and more importantly... it has WASD.

I also cant stand the point and click click click, if you like the WASD kind of moba check out smite its free, the cash shop is only for skins and voice packs so no pay to win.

HoTS is fun for casual players who dont have time to learn complex mechanics....its very easy to start and is fine for MOBA newbies....if you want to play very comlex MOBA, play Dota, if you want something between, play League of Legends...and then there is Smite, its not bad game, still better than HotS but cannot compete with Dota and LoL :-)...but in my opinion, HotS and Smite are great games for older players with slower reaction enjoy Dota and LoL you need to be really good player and go through low games full of very toxic players, but once you will make it and your MMR in dota or division in LoL is high enough you are more than fine.
