Hype/Vaporware Meter

I realize the hype meter is about as reliable as Fox News but is anyone else seriously disturbed by how much potential vaporware is on it?
The next couple years are looking rather grim, especially if many of these questionable games never get made. I'm looking at you: Star Citizen, Pantheon, Project Gorgon, EQNext. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.
