General: Wave Of Darkness: Early Access Begins On Steam

Dreamatrix has announced that the early access to "complex, hardcore, not holding your hand" action RPG Wave of Darkness has started on Steam.

The developers are thanking the community for their support and dedication, noting that it allowed for many improvements and features to be added to the game, some of which are:


  • A fully open world for exploration;

  • 200+ types of creatures to face;

  • Spell generator;

  • Crafting;

  • Using Runes to unlock chests, crates, etc.

    Well she is actually the game producer, but it does not feel like she actually like to play the game herself. Like she is reading this from a paper and is bored. 

    Well atleast all bakers soon be able to play!

    For an indy game it looks "good enough".

    Good news:This looks well done.....for a low budget game.I match it up versus Diablo/POE and it's clones.

    The Bad news:It looks like yet another Diablo/POE clone.

    I did not see anything geared towards an open world,i saw that exact linear small paths Diablo look a like.Now if this was a truly open world ,which i am sold on is not,it would be far better than Diablo and it's clones and i likely would be interested in the game.

    No hand holding is a HUGE positive.However as i stated,with what seems like simple paths to follow,you really are sort of hand held.I would have to see more but something tells me even the quests will be like Diablo/POE.Even the UI seems a lot familiar with Diablo/POE.

    Devs seriously need to break away from obvious clones,you are aiming for such a small market.Instead open that game world up completely,get us back to grouping instead of soloing and create some real depth in combat and quests and currencies and npc's etc etc,then you have a solid winner.

    I'm not complaining about her in the least, and the accent is wonderful; however, if you are going to tell me about a game, and you want me to be interested in the game then put the fat, hair, sweaty dudes creating the game on there. At least they are excited about the game, and can convince me to play the game. I'm not looking for a person to read a piece of paper to sell me something, I am looking for Mr. Sham-WOW to get me to buy not 1 copy, but 3, because I never know when I will need em!

    I would advise to check out the rating on their first game that they burned us all on, Legends of Dawn. Very Negative Steam rating and 29/100 Metacritic, for what it is worth it is still mostly unplayable to this day. Be careful.

    Pretty sad face game to me. Main dev needs to read from a poorly edited script just to be able to talk about HUGE features such as... wait for it.... BAGS TO EXPAND YOUR INVENTORY!! You got it folks, MAJOR INNOVATIONS in OPEN WORLD gameplay.

    I must be a huge nerd or just getting old, but I wanted to see more of the game and not the narrator. 

    Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

    I've just started the game. Doesn't seem like diablo at all.  There is no jumping however.

    But I'm not getting a diablo vibe.

    I was about to purchase this game but was pushed out the way by millions of drooling, nay dripping, pre-pubescent teens and duly drowned in their testosterone.

    That video is old I remember there was a thread about it quite awhile ago, can't be bothered to look in my post history to see how far back but you would think they would make a new video for early access or something considering the negative remarks about it when it came out...lol

    Kind of harsh on the chick yeah, i mean she is not totally unattractive but if that is what they were trying to do then yeah maybe hire a model more attractive. Poor girl was probably hired to advert their game and here all the nerds sit picking on her looks...lol, classy guys, real classy.
