    anime / manga style?

    mabinogi.

it's a bit older but it is THAT manga style mmo. or if 2D is ok than have a look at maple story and wackfu. it's kinda manga style too

  • kenpokillerkenpokiller Member UncommonPosts: 321

I'm currently waiting for Astral Realms but that has yet to receive an English release xD.

Thanks! I will give it a go n.n

    I liked Maplestory but didn't play that long;

i have played mabinogi and wakfu myself. they are good games. mabinogi is kinda social mmo and wakfu is a turn-based-combat mmo

Scarlet Blade isn't overly new or creative but it's a solid MMO with steampunk atmosphere.

However you need to be ok with Ecchi Anime in order to digest some of the jokes in the game.

Echo of Soul is a very solid game, it's not casual, but it's not hardcore either. It's definitely cute, but not overly so.

Dragon Nest is pretty good too.

I'd recommend both of those games, as many anime MMOs are usually bland and uninteresting.

Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

    Technically it's not anime because it's derived from Korea, but Blade & Soul. I suggest giving it a go in the Russian Open Beta. Here is a guide on how to download a translation patch;

The game feels like hyper-anime. It's also hyper sexualized so be aware of that. As strange as it sounds I actually am enjoying the character creation more in Blade and Soul than in the current Korean beta of Black Desert Online, which has insane CC. But they have locked all but 4-5 hairstyles for each class behind a paywall which is weird.

Also, even though the technology is amazing I still feel people look alike. It's hard to make a character that looks unique and not completely weird. I didn't expect that from the impressive videos I saw of it.

Final Fantasy most def also has a powerful chibi look to it.

I liked Echo of Soul but it was a bit too repetitive. I should get back into it for PvP though and yes it's sooo cute!

Maybe I should give it another go :)

& I'll wait out on Blade and Soul but thanks anyhow :D

oh wow it does look really fun and reminds me just a little bit of Final Fantasy

Aura Kingdom to me is the best one out. Its recently released so the visuals are nice.

Aion is worth a try also because you can make some anime cute type characters if you want.

  • TybostTybost Member UncommonPosts: 629

Onigiri is possibly the closest thing to an anime-inspired game with a fantastic story and characters that will have you asking yourself...  "Am I watching an anime; or am I playing an anime-inspired game?" It's sort of like watching an anime as you play (story wise) but is missing key components that make a great game Such as... (Guilds/PVP) :3lol~ You really need to be in it for the story (and if you like grinding; this game will also be for you)

Aura Kingdom is a good MMO and would be my second choice; simply because it really is the only other worthy choice, and mostly the rest fall short (or I have not found/dabbled in them). Very solid game compared to onigiri~

Set your sights on this future anime inspired game under development; may you turn your attention to Peria Chronicles Online. I don't know all to much... except for how amazing the cell-shading in this game looks! Which will probably be one of the best 'Looking' anime inspired games not available in your area, and which won't come our way anytime soon... (or at all)

Here is a trailer of Peria Chronicles Online above.

    omg why tease me so much ;-;

that does look lovely and exactly what i'm looking for

Aura kingdom seems a nice contender in the meanwhile

(who am I kidding after watching that vid):

    I will play Onigiri ^^

Heh, somehow I checked that website out already

    y didn't I play it O.o

Probably for the reasons you stated but how you explained it you hit the spot!

    *Adds Peria to awesome-list*

    Thanks!!

Peria Chronicles is one of my most anticipated games. Its actually a sandbox game that reminds me a lot of Mabinagi.

    Ahahhahaha *highfive* xD

Q: What is Peria Chronicles development status?

A: The game was supposed to be in Closed Beta this month, but it we added a lot of new features so it's delayed next year.

    *looks at article date*

    Nexon are meanies.

Whoa seems like a really community-driven game also

Guess i'll board the hypetrain along with you all xD

"This email adress is already in use"

Alright that's two games I already registered for and didn't play

    My brain is noob

Rusty Hearts is shutting down (just came in now)

    :((((((((((((((

Installing Onigiri as we speak ^^

    & Lucent hearts also :D

Still contemplating Aura Kingdom but it has that same feel as Echo of Soul (or Echo of Soul has that same feel)

Does look way better and less gritty.

Okay Onigiri lags really hard, sadly :(

It also has that gritty style xD

Why not just play A Realm Reborn? ((FFXIV))

I will echo the notion of dragon nest.  Highly stylized, sometimes funny dialogue and very very anime in the combat department with skills as you level up becoming over the top and awesome.  Same for dungeon fighter online, which is more of a 2-d brawler/beatemup but very very well done.

    I've played enough FF xD

i'd have no life anymore :c

    but I should actually

    I prefer ongoing development

    not expansion-style

    DFO certainly is tempting

Reminds me of Metal slug xD

Aside from Aura Kingdom, another Chinese originated "cute anime inspired style" MMORPG is Revelation Online.

Some of its highlights is seamless open world with free formed flying, challenging dungeon instances and a pretty good story.

After Echo of Soul, Onigiri, Lucent Heart it does seem that way, they all have that same-y feeling :c

I guess I reallllllyyyyy want it to look anime-y

So Aura Kingdom seems the best choice.

I want Peria Chronicles in my life -_-
