So halflings have an Avatar nose now? First it was ripping off Disney. Now it is Avatar. Pretty sad that they have zero creative ability to come up with their own concepts.

They have also already flipped flopped on the whole " We are now working on EQN and things that makes sense for LM will be brought in ". Now it is back to LM is where it begins. I guess they say whatever to please people. They have no idea what they are doing.

77 views on twicth.tv and they are lagging behind putting them up on youtube. Workshop show #37 has 1371 views as of this post. Pretty abysmal in the views department. Hardly anyone is paying any attention to these videos.

Yet the combat videos get much much more. Most people dont care about art and its direction as it grows. Most just want to see the finished picture and even then, most people dont take time to really appreciate it.

Love the Halfling, very fitting with the rest of the concept art and races. I cant wait to see the dwarfs.

Didn't know a nose could be copyrighted...

Who knows though, DE was Avatarish and it changed. Concept to game model a lot can happen. Or simply refining it as time goes on. Assuming Tony the Lion King is going to look very different the next time it is shown off, the concept art after the reveal is pretty different. Personally, I'm a fan of where they are taking it, regardless if it takes inspiration from Disney. Disney has a decent history =)

Sadly Gnomes aren't planned as a playable race at release, but they've basically said they plan to make the full roster playable over time. No doubt Gnomes will be in the game though.

While I most likely won't play a Dwarf, I'm a fan of the concepts shown a long while back, hoping they haven't gone it a different direction, at least not too much. Males look good, females are a bit too high school though.

But honestly, only one race matters....

Love these concepts =-) I dont play dwarfs as well but for me fantasy is just not right unless it has the right races. Dwarfs add a lot of depth. Humor being a large part of that.

My friend and I both had a shaman and we had endless debates on what race was better as a shaman, my Ogre or his Iksar. Still think my larger health pool made Ogre the better shaman =-)

Hopefully the Halfling changes. The only thing missing that doesnt make it look identical is blue skin. Thankfully I am going to assume that there will be a good bit of customization if EQN ever comes out so maybe it wont be so nauseating.

I love Disney. In my movies or cartoons or certain games. Not in Everquest though.

I assume that their concept artists simply like the look. Thankfully (or not), multiple others will have their hands in creating races and NPCS. Each will influence as progression takes place.

For me, I have an issue with the flawlessness. Everything looks like a magazine cover after a session with photoshop. As you said, hopefully the character creation allows us to add some depth or grit and everything doesn't have to look like it is perfect.

Then again, I see a lot of Free Realms influence to that might be their goal. At the same time I can still see EQ-SOL-EQ2 heck even the original EQ trailer models in what they are doing. Rosie clearly has a strong influence on things.

I've always thought EQ was meant to be accessible to a wide variety of individuals of all ages. Which is why I believe it has had such a long life. Much like WoW. They seem to be really pushing it with the bright colors, emotions, heroic characteristics, etc.

Is anyone going to care about ESO, The Witcher, Dragon Age, Shadow of Mordor, 10 years from now?

Highly doubt anyone is going to go "man that game looks just like Dragon Age." While folks have no problem going "That Kerran looks like The Lion King." Which might be used negatively, but 21 years later, that Disney movie still looks top notch and if that is the worst thing EQN can be compared to, not doing too bad. Same goes with Avatar, pretty nice looking movie.

Could be worse in my eyes, Wildstar -- WoW. While I know a lot of the team was from Blizzard, that is a pretty blatant knock off within a world of WoW knockoffs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that design already released? I could have sworn I've seen it before, if not in Landmark, then the Life of Consequences video. Or do you just mean that it's different colors?
