The shit happens. At least usually in most things like say music you're favorite artist still makes music you like.  MMORPG's just flat out took our balls and gave it to the new kids lol.

It is a free market. The devs can cater to anyone they want. If you don't like their entertainment, you can always do something else.

Of course they can but I don't see what is your whole objection to it.  The future is playing out for MMORPGs to be niche and small.  There are not many or any casual theme park games in development.

what objection? I did not object to anything .. just making an observation.

The future ... my guess is that the future is other kind of online games which will be called MMOs. Sure there will be some niche & small games for almost any preferences.

Oh, I highly doubt that there is any future for the acronym MMO. When you fuck with a definition every which way as we are seeing with this is one, it will inevitably become obsolete. Unfortunately for your little crusade/hobby, it will likely not end as you had dreamt.

I think it will end exactly as I have "dreamed". People will keep arguing about the definition .. then many will just give up when the world is not going their way... and it dies a whimpering death.

It would be fun to watch though.

I am talking about MMORPGs specifically.  MMOs and other multiplayer games maybe become more popular. But the traditional MMORPG are heading towards smaller games. Unless the developers return to making them.   I am perfectly fine with that if they go back to their roots.

    Ha! You got me.

I should have known bettter seeing as though, unlike yourself, English is my first language. You make a lot of grammatical errors but you are consistent; which tells me you have a certain level of intelligence.

I do agree however. Can't wait to see the death of "MMO"; utterly meaningless term.
