I have a strange wish for SWTOR in 2015- don't add any content until the movie launch, then surprise us with an epic expansion with tons of new and unexpected movie-tie-in stuff.

That'd be pretty sweet!
Considering SWtOR is set about 2k years before the movies it would be hard to 'tie it in'.....

TIE it in, of course ( excuse the pun :-))
Just thinking of lightsabers, locations, possibly pre-story.. they'll find a way for sure.

swtor doesnt follow the lore to the last detail. They sold fantasy lvl 1 axes in the cash shop so they can add futuristic SW gear in game too.

Those axes are from Ep 6 so i don't see how that fits in the "not following the lore" thing.

Sadly, this fail design(instead of a real cortosis cross guard lightsaber-sweet!) alongside goongans/jar-head-blinks and other nonsense will be Canon while some other, awesome stuff will not. Ok, yuuzhan vong and luke vs living black Hole needed to go(pretty obvious innit?), but we did lose a bunch of nice stuff.
...meh. I'll still be using my lvl 10 orange equipment. Hardly anything beats Republic command carbine or lvl 10 saberstaff. Then there's that sweet silver/purple hilted lightsaber from Coruscant equipment comm vendor. As usually:
More freedom and hence fun to you guys!
I've been enjoying the new sabers they added a little while back.
And yes, cortosis cross guards would've made a far more elegant solution than these silly mini-glowsticks. =P
Especially since they seem to have glaring weak spots at the intersections where the tiny projectors create the beams. Doesn't seem like they'd do that good of a job catching and actually blocking a lightsaber.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Its my hope they tie it all together within the movie with the return of some ancient evil, even if its someone we've never heard of before, rearing its ugly head again, hence the old school looking saber. That would be a wink and a nod to SWTOR and allow the game to tie in to the movie by adding things from the movie into the game without wondering how something like Luke's saber made it back in time a couple of thousand years.

Like the World Razer inside Belsavis?
Well based on the fact that its about the Force Awakening I assume it would be more along the lines of an ancient sith lords spirit or something like that. But the World Razer would be a cool route to go as well. The ancient sith lord corrupts some young force sensitive who stumbles into his tomb and his long term goal is to unleash the World Razer to wreak havoc on the struggling republic/empire.

I kinda like it and think it would fit right in with SWTOR style.
I think it'll have clipping issues with different animations but it'll probably go unnoticed by most. I'm sure it's already in development if not already done, and probably waiting to be released; it's the sort of tie-in that the community will accept in lieu of actual content to play, similar to WoW's motorcycle promotion last year to hide the lack updates leading up to their expac.
Love it or hate it, it'll be a huge hit because it'll effectively show off your color crystals in a unique 3-way spread, which is a big draw for a lot of people. I wonder if they'll make a dual saber variant with glowing hilts so you have a beam sticking out six-ways, ROFL.

Or how about...wait for it... TIME TAVEL
why do they have to drop from cartel packs and not from enemies? or are you specifically asking for weapon skins?

In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
