yes thank you for opening my eyes..i have been married to a pedo for last 10 years. I will go file divorce papers right now Dr. Phill.
there could be several factors that would lead her to feel uncomfortable with the game characters, maybe an experience that happened in her past etc... i dont know your wife and i'm sure she isnt attracted to children, but there are generally outside factors for people reacting knee jerk to a situation like this. regardless, in more often than not cases a big leading factor is shame, people knowing they shouldnt have said feelings but still do. Not everyone who has said feelings act on them and i take my hat off to them to some degree, having feelings like that and denying them day in and day out / living a regular life and never bringing harm to children or other people would be a burden to live with.
Lol..nah nothing happened to her in past and she is perfectly normal. And there are no 'deep' reasons for it either. She felt un comfortable with the imagery just like many others did. it is just that simple. But please continue telling yourself that only borderline pedos are the ones who would have an issue with it. Whatever makes you happy man. You have built yourself this bubble where any opposing opinions are simply 'pedophiles' trying to hide their guilt.
yeah because rational people dont play a videogame because they dont like how a race looks. of all the issues to take with a game, thats clearly the most rational.. and you're using terms like peadophile and guilt
shame =/= guilt - 2 very different things.
peadophile - an offender isnt an offender until they offend, clearly.
People who have a problem with it we established this - People look at the race and associate it with a child in scant clothing consider it sexually depict and take offense. That isnt on the game developers (although i guess it's easier to declare moral outrage and call the developers peadophiles), that is whatever is going on in said persons head to draw these lines and be morally outraged in disgust. It's a videogame, the characters arent involved in any sexual activity, they wear skimpy clothing and sort of resemble young girls with animal features (tails, ears etc...) again, plenty of fantasy games, lore etc... have races that are depicted as young or children despite being 100's 1000's of years old... it's a part of the genre, maybe not every game or book etc... but it's still a part of it.
I'm sorry the game wasnt for her because she made an irrational decision based off something so trivial as game characters, doesn't change the fact that it's a decent game
it's also pretty funny that you continue to berate me for being close minded to opinion when you're not open to mine, double standards are fun

Its more likely just a social stigma. In the west people do not think children should be sexualized, its a cultural thing, but that doesn't mean everyone in the west are pedos. In Korea/Japan, the same images do not carry the same message. And they are not even particularly perceived as "sexualized".
In Japan I can sit around naked in a public bath with a group of strangers and its just normal. In western countries people in general would not be comfortable doing that. And yet Japan is much more conservative in nearly every way than most western countries.
The different reactions in each case are due to cultural differences, not some individual psychological issue.

I tried Wulin while back, the community was small but friendly. I guess they are still way behind US in updates.
Open World PVP isn't really all that widespread, even on US server in my experience. That is kind of my main issue about the game - pretty much everything important, and mostly PVP, about the game revolves around scheduled event. If you can't keep with the schedule, there isn's much meaningful to do, besides raids(can be very time consuming).
The other thing is abysmall progression curve.
The game has mind blowing combat mechanics, it is just spectacular. Sadly the rest of the game is not so well made.

i found raiderz to be ok, i dont think the combat was better than Tera, but thats a matter of opinion... was a pretty solid game though and was pretty fun while i was playing it!
Oh, good ol' RaiderZ according to a quick look at the file dates, haven't played it since the early 2013 (but still have the client). I have to agree, it was a neat little game. During the beta and the launch I even wrote some posts about it, with the conclusion that I think it's better than Tera, because at least it's honest about its weaker parts. Or something like that.
Liked its Monster Hunter-esque vibe (crafting), and the -somewhat- flexible class building too. And the tongue-in-cheek humour. HiveLeader had a great "My First Hour" video of it too (*)... Whinestein Cryme Emopants, one of the best character names I've heard
A bit odd that Yasha mentioned the "not much pvp", I left exactly because of the forced pvp and the constant gankfests. That, and the usual (with PWE I mean) post-launch exploit waves, and their mis-management from PWE and Maite.
But yep, it was a really fun game to play. Damn, now I feel like I should refresh the client and checking back...
edit: since HL is now here on mmorpg, and also it was 2 years ago, I hope it's not advertising, so http://youtu.be/qJ2rhdmKaPk
sorry but, PoE is not an mmo, and if you concider tera "worth playing", alot of other mmos fall into that cathegorie too then, because quite frankly... they are better than tera
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
Of this entire site. With its entire game list of free to play mmorpgs. Path of Exile and Tera Rising are the only two F2P mmorpgs that are incredible games to play. I would love for someone to tell me differently. Please make sure to include which F2P mmorpg is better. Also do not include any non-mmorpg game like a moba. I already know DOTA2 is top dog of Mobas!
Both POE and Tera have incredible free expansions.. Take a look!

Yeah, there is that pvp zone mid way through levelling that you have to farm the boss for or do something else in there to progress, it was my favourite part of the game, haha. Then you get to do pvp again in a similar zone at level cap I think? It wasn't like pvp in Tera where you can just attack anyone pretty much anywhere, nor did it have battlegrounds.
I am sure it is still going and they released the assassin class last year or earlier this year. It doesn't seem to be very well known, but it certainly was fun to play and easy to meet people in game.
Originally posted by Amjoco As I said earlier today, I voted for SWTOR. Everyone seems to dislike EA, but I'm glad they didn't pull the plug on this and keep adding content. I don't play it as often as I would like to, but it's like GW2 and is always there when I feel the urge.
COD(AW) and Dragon Age Inquisition are both outstanding titles with EA. They have done quite well in the past year or so.
Ya just saying, EA is like the worst company in the America. There are still a few of games they have messed up yet!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I would say Rift good free to play, Marvel Heroes Very good as well.
But some say Rift to grindy have to pay to get the most out of it, why is SWTOR on that list? when there free to play very grindy and there free to play limits you unless you sub.
If make you take out your wallet that you have too just to play then is not very good free to play.

EA is just a publisher. No matter whether they are a good company or not, they publish plenty of good games like Dead Space.

I am sorry but you lose the 'be open to my opinion' card when you generalise millions of people you don't know based upon your own personal view points about this subject matter.
I think Tera is still one of the best mmo titles you can play, p2p or f2p. Saying it's one of the only two worth playing is silly though, rift, aion, aoc, swtor, sto etc are all worth playing too if you enjoy the world they offer.
