Usually people follow up the reposting of information with a point.  Maybe you didn't have one specifically and just wanted to start a discussion based on someone else's work?

Okay here goes. THATS GREAT NEWS dude thanks for finding that for us!!

I am not for sure if that is a good number or not. Cause the game did release on 4 different consoles.

Well look at the amount of people that bought next gen consoles. Millions.  Then look at the amount of people that bought all the terrible console games that have come out so far, millions.   I'm sure they will buy the DLC too, this will continue the neverending streak of publishers/devs making awful games and trying to keep them going with DLC.  This statistic doesn't serve any purpose other than to show how many derpy console gamers are out there today.

Why?  This serves no purpose other than to continue off topic.  At this site, we already have a bad enough reputation, lets not make it worse. I am not condoning or supporting the original quoted post either.  Someone already pointed out the issue, why continue it?

What does that have to do with Destiny which is a totally different genre.  Why not compare it to games with persistent online multiplayer worlds instead?

The title is misleading, Destiny had a monthly average of 3.2 million daily players, which is very different from having 3.2 million daily players a month after launch.

Will be interesting to see the games longterm retention

It adds perspective of just how popular LoL is - and don't forget the Dev cost either - $15 million total.

LoL is also more popular than Archeage and every game on this websites list and cheaper too.  On top of that it doesnt cost 60 dollars to buy.

They had 3.2 million players turn the game on a day.  That is an impressive number.  It doesn't matter if it's an absolute number or an average.  It compares very well with Halo, one of the most popular franchises on consoles.  One of the most popular franchises ever, actually.  Initial sales must have been pretty ridiculous.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Ugh, really? Oh, what's that? Ahhhhh, ok, that's the sound of your credibility flushing down the toilet.

You know what else was really inexpensive to develop? Flappy Bird. OH, and it only took like 24 hours to develop. OH! And it was making like $10,000 daily. So, really, Flappy Bird beats LoL, if we're talking about relativity. Shoot, if we're talking in relative terms, Candy Crush DESTORYS LoL. Therefore it's the best game in the universe. /roll eyes

What you're talking about means absolutely nothing. It's completely inconsequential. Please, continue the hate train for a game that you basically finished more quickly than anyone else on here, and probably still play. It's like saying "Crack is Whack!" and then you're out on the corner the next minute picking some up.

People who have smoked cracked probably have a much more in depth experience on the matter and probably would say that Crack is Whack.

LoL - released 5 years ago in a genre with very little competition

Destiny - released 5 weeks ago in a genre with a ton of competition.

    There's your perspective.

Just to expand on this, 3 years after release LoL had 4.2 million people logging in daily. 4 years after release, they had 12 million daily players. 5 years after release they have 27 million daily players.

Therefore, in 5 years, Destiny will have a total of 59 million players playing on a daily basis using the LoL population growth trends (based on what's available), while also adopting LoL's currently declining growth trend. Still, I guess it's ok, I'm just glad to get some perspective.

Such is the power of consoles. Not to mention the huge following of Bungie.

But that doesn't mean every MMO can reach those numbers on consoles. I am looking at you FFXIV.

So yeah it is very impressive.
