Its sad isnt it, people blame just about everything on movies, songs, games etc. I bet more people die as a result of playing sport yet no one blames the sport do they, no beacuse they watch it. Peolpe lay the blame on something they know nothing about.

OMG how can the media blame a game for a persons stupidity!

people do stupid stuff and the media tells the truth on what happened but blames the persons actions on things like this.I completely agree with people on this if you can't take care of a child don't have one.If the game was the reason, it should NOT be more important than a HUMAN BEING.I do hope she gets a lot worse than 10,000 dollar fine and 10 years....really people how can you forget a baby in a car?!image

Dont say that, cause then they will get a stupid idea that everyone that plays video games will have to have a video game license that says you are not insane and wont go killing everyone.

There are only 10 types of people in this world.
Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

     1. IF this is what happened, why would she park the car, then run into the house?

I mean IF she had to go to the store sooo badly, how come she interrupted her EQ play and even remembered to take the kid with her to the store?

If EQ was soo on her mind, why was she able to interrupt playing EQ to go to the store?

    2. There are 2 stupid parties in this story. NO make that 3.

     A. The woman. She is yet another case of a dumb immature adult. Just like the parents of those super-mega-fat kids who tried to sue McDonalds because their kids were fat.

     B. The police for using brilliant dective work citing some computer game named EverQuest was the reason this innocient kid died. And then annoncing their brilliant idea nationwide to the press.

     C. The press. Out of the tons of stories that need coverage, they hype this story about an idot adult.

Guns don't kill people. Stupid people with guns kill intelligent people who don't have guns.

This girl was NOT killed by EverQuest LOL. She had an idiot mother. The mother obviously is looking for a way out (lawyer's advice?) to make her sentance light. If she had said "Yes your Honor, it is 100% my fault for not being responsible for my kid. That is why my kid is not here today".

[Know what? She would've probably got off easier if she had been 100% honest! LOL]

Instead she says "Your Honor, it is NOT my fault my kid is not here today. My kid was killed by a computer game!"

EQ is still a great game. just get your priorities in line, and just be responsible.

Not only do i know this story but..

She was an enchanter on the tribunal server and i just happened to be in her group that day. She was harrassed pretty bad on the boards because of this tragedy. I feel sorry for her. She was a sweet girl. I believe she had put her child to napping and the kid got up and wandered out of the house. I don't know whatever happened as far as whether she was sent to jail or not.

Not everyone into Warcraft, EverQuest and other MMORPGs neglects his or her life. Those most susceptible have preexisting problems, such as depression or anxiety disorders, therapists say.

Temple University psychology professor Donald A. Hantula said he believed the medium was not to blame for dysfunctional behavior by its users.

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me.
