Also careful on what you post on the official Wildstar forums, the Mods are banning everyone criticizing the game. The forums over there look like North Korea.

And who says gamers have no sense of perspective?

At this point the bets are whether or not there'll be a WILDSTAR in 2015.

That's pretty telling that they don't have the resources in place to do holiday events, unless they never had plans to do them.

The holiday content designer on their forums revealed they had a plan for Christmas too.

If anything, the fact that the Holidays got scrapped despite how some parts of them were complete (some rigs are floating around on the forums of some of the holiday costumes) is even MORE ominous.  According to the holiday content designer, it was because they needed to devote all their resources to bug-testing Drop 3. The fact that they do this despite how the holidays were partially complete tells me that they're REALLY REALLY DESPERATE to make Drop 3 successful.  Basically, Drop 3 is probably their last chance to save the game, to the point where they're ditching holiday events and pouring everything they can into it.

They didn't budget enough for QA, like hmmm every other company ever. Who'd have thought, engineers can't get something right the first time?

But at least they owned up to it. People have been loudly and rightly complaining about bugs, and now they are doing the only thing they can. Hold things back until they have had more time to test them.

Which obviously means the game is junk, dead, ebola-infested, and is killing kittens just for fun. Yep.

How did they not budget enough for QA?  The game had a 9 year development cycle yet the finished product looks like a 2 year development game.  Perhaps they should have squandered a lot less of their time and budget.

Twitch stream said they had to cancel the holiday content because QA was getting stretched thin with the mega server testing.

Earlier patches and content releases have had irksome and surprising bugs in them that were baffling players on how they could have gotten through QA. You could argue, maybe QA caught them, but SW dev didn't have resources to do anything about it.

When you're scrambling to keep a game afloat, I would imagine that holiday events end up pretty low on the priority list.

Yep.  That's the more concise way of putting it, in retrospect.  Scrapping the holiday events is a rather clear sign of them being in scramble-mode.

This. Plus the fact that switching to mega-servers is no small task, there is plenty of work and testing involved. With all the gazillion problems WS has at the moment a problematic transition from classic to mega-servers would definitely kill the game for good.

Huh, well they must not be using the right QA people because I'm constantly seeing QA pull releases out of thin air. Voila!!

Honestly, though, the real answer to the QA problem is quite simple. Outsourcing. All you have to do is tell them what you want, they go off and do it and, BAM!! Problems instantly solved.

    /sarcasm :)
