Is there an mmo with no cash shop?

Looking for an mmo without a cash shop. Sub is cool. Box fee is cool. Just don't want the ability to purchase anything, even aesthetics. I want an mmo where I can actually play the game to unlock anything, instead of forking over extra cash.
Eve is close, but they have PLEX. I don't know of any others, unfortunately...

I haven't played them in a while, but since you thought EVE was a pretty good choice it seems you don't shy away from PvP.
Darkfall Unholy Wars and Mortal Online are both PvP subscription games, last time I played them they didn't have a cash shop to my knowledge. Neither of these games have a massive player base like AAA games though so be wary of that.
Also the only way you are gonna get no shop is if you go subscription and even then sub games can have a shop, so it would be a good idea to skip anything that isn't sub.

Wildstar doesn't have a cash shop but again, it does have the same sort of PLEX system like EVE. However you can't pay to win with it. (Unless you consider winning leveling up crafting or something...)
It really depends on what kind of MMO you like though.

Even so. You can pick an MMO because its fun, or you can play one of the extremely small, old, or rare MMOs just because they don't have a cash shop. In the end odds are you're gonna have a bad time picking what you spend so much time on by such a metric.

Yes FFXIV doesn't have a cash shop and right now on steam it's $20 usd.
UO has had one since 2003.

ESO and FFXIV are the only two I can think of that I have played. If you don't like Plex you won't like Creed in Wildstar either as it's basically the same thing.
