The West is a browser-based Western-themed RPG

Most people focus on one of the two PVP options : Dueling (1-on-1 fights), or Fort-Fighting (large turn-based combat with up to 140 players on a side).  Combining them is possible, but a specialist will outperform you

Aside from that, there are also various peaceful activities that you can engage in :

Working on one of the job activities (over 100 available) to earn XP or cash, or find gear.  All jobs are open to anyone of the required level, but your skill distribution determines how well you'll perform

Playing through the various quest lines.  The individual tasks you have to do tend to be fairly simple, but the stories linking everything together are usually pretty decent (though the early-game quests, which are usually also the oldest, tend to be a bit more basic)

Crafting an assortment of buffs to help in the other activities

Constructing towns and forts

Chatting with friends, town-mates and allies

...

The game starts out with a tutorial that covers all the basic features, which are unlocked as you progress through the first 25 levels (a few hours of gameplay)

You can play fairly intensively, but if you mostly ignore PVP, a few minutes per day to schedule some jobs or advance a quest is fun too

You should get prompted to add me as a friend, so you can easily ask me questions in-game if needed.  I'll be monitoring this thread for questions too...

Disclaimer : That's a ref link, if you sign up through it, you'll get some extra gear and buffs to smooth out your early game, I'll be a step closer to an achievement (I'm a little OCD about them :))

Not sure if these are allowed here, but the rules didn't say anything about them, and I figure since I actually described the game a bit instead of just spamming the link, it's hopefully OK
