“All right, listen up!” Khaterina cupped her hands around her mouth, and she sounded exactly like her sister when she yelled. “You’re going to get into these shuttles and you’re going to fly out of here! Follow the starboard side of the ship, head towards the Eidolon! If you don’t know what the starboard side is, don’t get into the pilot’s seat!”
Prisoners were already packing into the transport’s fleet, Vermivo peeled off to take control of one, and Khaterina found another, leaving Dane with the Eidolon’s shuttle and the two Dominion turncoats. The first shuttle lifted off, followed quickly by a second. The third puttered loudly with a damaged engine coil, but made it through the forcefield after one last backfire.
Dane wove through the packed shuttle, closing the doors behind him. There was barely enough room for him to squeeze past, into the cockpit. A Granok sat in the co-pilot’s seat, with an Aurin perched on his shoulders and another in his lap. She had helped shove open the door earlier.
“Ever flown before?” Dane eyed the Granok’s passengers.
“Yeup.” The hulking woman nodded once and offered no follow-up. He wasn’t looking for a resume but a few more details would have been nice.
“Okay then.” He powered up the engines and started toggling through the lift-off procedures, watching the handful of other shuttles escape the dying ship. He followed last, piercing the forcefield just in time for the prison transport ship to completely lose power. Atmosphere blew out of the large bay, shoving the shuttle.
The Eidolon awaited them exactly where Khaterina had said it would be, hovering off the starboard side of the dying transport. The battle cruiser welcomed them with an open hangar bay, smaller than the first. A familiar voice crackled over the shuttle’s intercom.
“Approaching shuttles, please be advised, our hangar cannot accommodate all of you at once. We will be transmitting approach coordinates. Don’t worry, we’ll get you all on-board.” Before the communication shut off, Dane could hear his old head of engineering grumble. “Sure woulda appreciated a little warning, gawdammit.”
Dane chuckled and leaned back, wincing from the injuries sustained during his incarceration. Threading his fingers behind his head, he figured it could be worse. As he briefly drifted into thought, he reflected over everything he had chosen to do and who had finally tipped the scales to make him act. Those radiant violet eyes and the soul contained within. Yet all he really knew was her name.
“Batalii.” The Granok woman shifted her eyes toward him, lifting a rocky eyebrow. “Excuse me?” Dane shook his head, breaking out of his reverie with an uneasy smile, not even realizing he had spoken aloud. “Nothing, pay it no mind.” The female co-pilot merely grunted and looked back ahead.
It would be a few minutes before their turn came and he took the chance to take stock. The prison transport already listed to the side, lifeless and drifting. Ahead, the Eidolon waited, and beyond that, he knew what their destination would have to be.
Without question, they would have to head toward Nexus, and the Dominion would be on their asses the whole way.
The Midnight Reveries community started out as a World of Warcraft role-playing guild in September of 2006, on The Venture Co (US) RP-PvP server. Throughout our many adventures together, our player base has grown into more than just a single-game guild, with most members now interested in numerous titles, and some not affiliated with a game at all. We have become a thriving community of mature individuals who share a common bond of friendships and interests, not only in the gaming world, but in life.
We are dedicated to providing a persistent community for mature gamers and role-players; a place where lasting friendships can be built and maintained regardless of game or guild affiliation.
The doors of our individual game branches, and our community for that matter, are always open to mature, fun, halfway-intelligent, respectful human beings. We aim to enjoy MMORPGs from both an IC and OOC perspective, incorporating both in-game and forum RP, IC and OOC in-game chat channels (when accommodated), regularly scheduled IC and OOC events and meetings, and the list goes on. We enjoy the freedom of a self-owned and self-run website & Mumble server.
Most importantly (all jazz aside) we aim to forge genuine, lasting friendships, and we've had tremendous success with this over the past 7+ years. We've witnessed the development of real world relationships, marriages, babies, you name it. It has been a fun journey and will continue to be for the rest of our lives. In short, MR is here to stay.
Our WildStar guild, Heretics of Eidolon, is aimed at providing a role-play environment that is filled with a varied assortment of characters with different aspirations and dispositions. Our story is aimed at providing a landscape for these characters that will provide interesting role-play situations that aren't just of the happy-go-lucky nature.
There will be characters that sometimes do not get along, there will be secrets, occasional internal strife and a wide array of other situations. However, through not only the desire to survive on the world of Nexus, but also take the fight to the Dominion and all other threats to the guild, they will stick together, grow and become a force to be reckoned with.
In Heretics of Eidolon, we want to provide a role-play community with relatively flexible alignment rules, while still maintaining the necessary backbone that enables the guild to not only work together, but thrive together. While many may see the world in different ways, they can agree on how to survive and whom to fight... for the most part.
On the gameplay side, our goal is to enjoy all aspects that the game has to offer. While we are not a hardcore PVE or PVP guild, these are things we seriously enjoy doing, and we will always push any desired content that we are able to. Playing the game is about as important to us as role-playing in the game. To be clear, we have no requirements on player skill, however, there are some that will strive to do more, and we will certainly go through any door that is open to us, as long as it doesn't require sacrificing our role-player soul.
The core group starting Heretics of Eidolon have been playing together for many years now, and we are an extension of a greater community that has been together even longer. Our ultimate goal is to extend this family and have a great home in WildStar for mature, friendly people with similar desires for their gameplay experience. We love the product Carbine has brought us in WildStar and want to experience everything it has to offer, while creating original stories and living, breathing characters to enjoy it all with.
