I already owned the Sensei mouse with the metal surface, and liked it alot. But I was interested when they announced the Wireless version, which should have solved lag problems and such. But it was very expensive for a mouse. So surely not for everyone.
But I bought it, and it has grown on me. It performs just like my other Sensei, and not having a chord that always slides along the edge of the table, is just great. This sliding chord has been an irritation for a while for me, and probably the reason I took notice of the wireless version in the first place. What more is, I can use the mouse several meters away, meaning I can lay on my sofa and navigate Netflix and such and watch on my TV. It is in the recharger when it is not in use so it's alway fully loaded. I was reluctant to pay so much but the coolness factor got the better of me, but today I am more happy that I did it than I was expecting.
Not for everyone, but it has it's reasons.

That's actually a good idea - the mousepad would be the wireless charger.. it would probably still run dead under really long continuous use, since inductive charging is a slow trickle charge, but still not a bad idea.
