Breton vs. Imperial Tank

SatariousSatarious Member UncommonPosts: 1,073
It looks like Bretons get a pretty significant racial bonus of 32/64/96 Spell Resistance.  Does anybody know if that's significant enough to consider at the expense of the tanky racials you get from Imperial?  As a tank, you're going to be on the receiving end of a whole lot of spell dps which you don't have nearly as much protection against as you would physical (since you're wearing heavy armor).

I'm not 100% but I think heavy armor does provide inherent protection against spell attacks. At the very least the heavy armor skill line provides them so in any event you should have protection for both. Whether or not Breton's resistance is better than Imperial health is debatable but I think I would go with Imperial for a tank type character, personally.

Yeah, I think you're right.  The Imperial race just seems to be fine tuned to be a tank with its racials.  I think Bretons would be great for Templars in heavy armor, though, since they need magicka and the Spell Resistance would be a nice bonus.
