The first time I edit a post where I have used URL tags, and the URL begins with http:// the site appends:
" rel="nofollow
(including those quotation marks), to the inside of the URL. If I don't go in and manually edit that out, it breaks the URL. If I don't use the http:// prefix, the site redirection is all goofy. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.
Here's an example you can (maybe) see if you ninja mod edit. I typed the same address as you see on the screen inside the URL tag, and each subsequent edit adds an additional nofollow tag.
If I use this one, it's fine code-wise, but the site tries to direct to http://www.mmorpg.com/www.google.com
www.google.com
This one gets mangled inside the URL tag to url=http://www.google.com" rel="nofollow, with extra nofollows for every time I edit the post.
http://www.google.com
And if I click on it, I get this:
Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.google.com" rel="nofollowDid you mean: www.google.com
I can understand wanting to include nofollow tags, but can you fix your auto-append so it doesn't mangle and break your forums?
