''So what is Albion Online'' i hear some ask, well in a nutshell, its a sandbox full loot pvp game set in a medieval setting with a large focus on crafting, building and open gameplay.
''So!?!? whats so special about this??'' i hear the ney sayers asking. Well Albion Online stands out to me for a number of reason....
Firstly its playable on a variety of platforms >>> these will share a cross-platform experience.
But the main point of interest for me is that it has NO classes and NO levels!!!! that's right, long gone are the days of the usual generic build type of tanks, wizards, rangers and warriors, instead, in Albion Online you define your character by what you use and equip, So you want to be a heavy armor wearing wizard, sure, get some plate and a stave and your good to go, or perhaps you want to be a ranger that has a knack for smashing things in the head with a big axe when they get to close, then by all means, feel free.
The build options are literally limitless thanks to the craft and skill system, skills are not set by character choice at character creation but more by what skills you CHOOSE to apply to your weapon AND armor, feel free to mix and match until your heart is content.
Heres a little video explaining a little more about skills and character building >>>
To top all that off, Albion Online focuses heavily on the pvp experience, its a fully open loot pvp game (in other words = you die you loose items) it sounds harsh and it can be, you will do well to play with friends
Albion Online also focuses heavily on crafting and building, all towns and building you will see ingame are crafted and made by PLAYERS themselves, do you fancy trying to build your own piece of paradise in the world of Albion Online, then go for it, but be prepared, other players will have their greedy little eyes on those materials to, and bigger guilds might just be wanting a little bit more land and your little eutopia could find itself in the way of some other players dreams of big things
Heres a few photo's of building types and some crafting options etc etc...
Albion Online is currently still a work in process and is due sometime later this year (hopefully) BUT they are opening the gates to alpha testers and beta testers IF you are lucky enough to get a key or invite.

I prefer FFA PvP games such as EVE, which despite being a sandbox, has very well defined systems and rules for everything.
No limit on what skills you can train, except the real time training means it takes 28 years t learn them all, so a player must choose carefully what role they want.
Yes, you can focus on industry, but you will blow at PVP and even PVE in many cases.
Not sure I could enjoy a game without limits, such DFO, I prefer the very structured crime and punishment system EVE has, and truthfully wouldn't mind if it went a little further.
I want to live in a virtual world that more realistically resembles 15th century Europe, and not modern day Somalia.
