Diablo 3: Experience Boost Paves the Way for Reaper of Souls

Blizzard has announced that Diablo III players can enjoy a 50% boost to experience between now and March 24th as a way to get players leveled and geared up prior to Reaper of Souls' release. Players will be able to fully take advantage of the new Paragon 2.0 system that allows Paragon points to be shared among all characters on a player's account and to hit level 60 in preparation for the new level 70 that will arrive with the expansion.

This hefty XP bonus gives your heroes a leg up on the new Paragon Leveling System, which just went live in patch 2.0.1. The new Paragon Leveling system not only allows ALL of your characters to share and contribute towards a single account-wide Paragon level, but it also grants bonus ability points with each Paragon level gained, which can be discretionally assigned to your character’s stats. 

In addition to the Paragon Leveling System, the pre-expansion patch delivers tailored rewards with the all-new Loot 2.0, bigger and better challenges through a revamped Difficulty system, and significant skill updates to all five hero classes. Plus, for the first time ever, Diablo III players can rally their allies withClans and Communities, making this the ideal time to get your old adventuring group back together and dive into some serious loot hunting.

    So how will getting to 70 work? If I am paragon level 30 when the normal level cap is raised to 70, will it automatically move my EXP from paragon to normal levels or will I have to forgo leveling paragon for a while to get to 70?

    Haha bugger, and I thought my faster than usual levelling was due to my new awesome build :)

    It stays how you left it but you can't continue levelling it again until you get to level 70, unless you don't have the expansion. If you don't have the expansion you can still get paragon levels at level 60.

    I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

    Think I'll be waiting the ps4 version to come out, it includes the xpac plus other goodies, plus sitting on the couch playing is comfy:)

    Additional experience?  I logged on for the first time last week in over a year, and went from lvl 35-60 in 5 hrs, not sure how you could want to speed up this process.

    You need to understand that not everyone is as amazing as you. Some may need more help. You don't, but they might.

      Probably you didnt notice the buff .. its been in for a few days already .. Started last week

    It's not so much to get to level 60 as it is to get your Paragon levels up. One of my friends has 100+ Paragon already. :)

    Last week, experience wasn't scaling properly for low level characters and they were leveling exceptionally fast as a result of that bug, which has since been hotfixed (as is stated in the notes from the latest update).

    Not as impressive as it may sound, unfortunately. 

    Pre-2.0 Paragon 100 required a serious level of dedication to achieve. Paragon 100 is now what Paragon 10 once was and isn't any type of accomplishment worth mentioning, by all standards.

    There are characters that are P500+ already, as an example.

    Times are changing, and players need to adapt to the new game (which is, ironically, closer to the "old game" i.e. D2 than D3 ever has been previously) rather than hanging on to the old preconceived notions of what was good, bad, an achievement, an accomplishment of merit, etc....

    I may have a re-go at this but it'll be somewhere down the line and not as soon as it comes out as much as I want to. Got other games going right now and need a life.

    Still no release date for PS4 version (they've GOT to do it soon)

    Still no announcement of Xbox One version (very likely shortly following release date announcement for PS4 version)

    Still no announcement of Xbox 360/PS3 versions (this one I think is quite unlikely though)

    I said they haven't announced the date yet. I know it will come eventually. I was more interested in the goodies he claims about.

    Personally, i can't stand playing an ARPG without a mouse and KB and using mechanics like dodging instead of movement juking, again in an ARPG. But if some people like it, more power to them.

    I'm just starting over at level 1 when the expansion comes out as i will now be able to play a character I want to play (crusader).

    play now, get your crusader some paragon levels and start on Master level.

    Same here. I just want to shield bash the sin out of unholy creatures.

    I don't mind waiting, I bought the original game and expansion pack as soon as I heard there would be a crusader (and also that they were removing the RMAH).

    I installed the game and tried to play with the other classes earlier this year, but they didn't quite cut it for me so I will gladly wait.
