Actually, this is what keeps me playing. lol. I don't want to ever feel like a drone doing pve carebear quests on a stopwatch. Dynamic Events were a godsend for me.

Not only that, but the old, dusty quest system meant you'd finish the quests and then have to move on because there was nothing left for you to do in the zone. DEs can be repeated and often enough you'll come across one in a state you hadn't seen before, so you'd still find something new.

I don't think he has an issue with the idea behind dynamic events, it is just the fact that the implementation is so awful in GW2. Maybe EQN will give us actual dynamic content, GW2 certainly did not. Chaining 3 events and putting them on an infinite loop is not dynamic.

Having the best gear in the game is pretty pointless in this game anyway. Pvp is a real bore in this game (zerg zerg zerg) and having good gear makes little difference. Having the best in slot for pve content is also pointless since so much of it just scales you to the content anyway.
This game was awesome for me and my wife for about a month, then it was clear there was not really anything to look forward to.

It certainly could be.
The DE tech / framework could be use to much greater effect, but the scope of the DE chains is just way too small. Expanding it to such a degree that players wouldn't see the repetitions as frequently is probably just not cost efficient.
EQNs system (Storybricks) in comparison can scale up almost indefinitely with much less work required on part of the developers. Doesn't mean you'd never see repeating content in EQN (actually very likely you will, the system reacts to world parameters, and those could revert and repeat at times), but you as a player have more agency to develop the world in different directions. We'll see if it works in a year or two.

He has been saying that game is empty for over a year.
Although it would be interesting to see a game where the majority of the world isn't empty - must be a very tiny world.
The guys that actually play have no problem in either randomly meeting other players or looking for them.

it is pretty pointless especially when you don't play the game and don't know what you talking about it.
WvW involves tons of army vs army - go figure it is a mode about army vs army. Try go into WvW with an under leveled character or with rare or green items and then complain how you are always dying.
sPvP there is no zerg.
While the game scales you down in PvE a level 80 in full exotics will slaughter mobs in the areas under 30 or will be there taking hits forever depending if he goes for damage or survivability. A true under level 30 player with under level 30 gear won't.

GW2 must be the best thing on Earth (unless you are getting paid to play it).
Majority of it was sitting afk in Lion's Arch tabbed out if you must know.
You're not alone it seems. With the amount of time some folk spend shilling the game on these forums.
I would hardly call it a grindfest, I have elected not to get ascended armor (just a waeapon) and I"m okay with that. I do all the other stuff and I"m not prevented.
That said, I am still miffed that the story is just not as rich or integrated as GW1. I want to go in, go on an adventure and that's nigh impossible. People only want to do certain dungeons or with certain party configurations. I don't even think I can blame the game at this point, it's the general MMO mindset.

There is no real replacement for GW1 missions but I guess without heroes/henchmen it would be hard to get them rolling. Cinematics GW1 style would have helped the PS, though.

I don't think it's a grindfest either. Unless you want it to be. The game doesn't say to you "Hey, you better work your tail off for this gear or you can't do this dungeon/go into this battleground." Heck if you wanted to you could probably do everything in all rare gear and since no one can inspect you nobody would know for sure unless you linked your gear.
And I hate the fact that everyone only wants "zerker speed run 80s only must be experienced" every time I go into a lfg for dungeon, but like u say, that's the MMO mindset: go in, go fast, get it done.
I mean yeah, speed runs are nice I guess, but there's something to be said for taking your time and killing everything in a dungeon so that if someone does die and has to run back, they don't have to run through a bunch of mobs on the way back.

I miss the difficulty of the missions and the fail or succeed consequences of them. They were challenging, and if you died you had to start from the beginning. I wish dungeons were like that in both consequence and their elaborativeness..
I find that game systems need to be created to make people be nice lol. Now i feel they need to create a better reward program that gives people "someting" for teaming with a 1st time dungeon goer". But then you'd get people hounding people and still urging for speed runs

There is no 'winning' except in PvP, and there is nothing you can buy to affect that very much. (Not hing at all in sPvP, little in WvW.)
And there is no content you need Ascended gear for, except Fractals. Which is a voluntary grind if there ever was one.
As someone who played games like AION (at launch) and AoC, I find the notion of calling GW2 grindy just silly.
P2W? Who exactly are you winning/losing against? Zhaitan? Scarlet? Bubbles?
Grindy? Yea, maybe, but when does running around for a few hours gathering mats turn from "playing the game" to "grind"? Your call, I guess.
And, yes, I'm very sorry you have to put in a few hours to get better gear. They should really give them to you when you buy the box.

The hype is always, always BS.
I got banned for saying the same thing the OP is saying...so whats up????
Has enough time finally gone by since GW2 released that we can ACTUALLY say something negative???
Can we actually point out flaws in GW2 now without the ban hammer coming out???
