You may want to give it more time. The player made content is down right fun. Some of the best fun I have had MMOing. I still log into GW2 from time to time because its free to do so and I need a PvP fix. I can see the foundry system in NW doing the same for me when I want a fun adventure.
Is it OK that Im laughing at all the people that pre order collectors editions before they have even tried the game? Spending sometimes twice or more the amount of a digital copy? I have NEVER bought a collectors edition for the simple fact that games tend to suck after 3 months, or the developer shows their true colors. That might change soon. however with ESO or wildstar..
But right now Im laughing at all the people that dropped 199.99 on hero of the north for a game that wasn't even released yet.
BTW, I like Neverwinter's combat, zones, graphics, ambience, story, etc.. Dungeons are difficult, and thats the end game for me. I take breaks from the game from time to time, debating if I want to get back into it right now. But the difficult dungeons are the end game for me.
What I find unusual about some of the responses here is that people are assuming that someone playing can actually stop playing when the game ceases to be fun. Many MMORPGs rely on mental traps in order to have decent retention rates, though thankfully a good majority of people don't get stuck up in them as they primarily manifest at the "end game" where grinding is at it's worst.
Worries that benefit us in real life, like the fear of falling behind schedule, the urge to meet important deadlines and group meet ups, and to stay relevant to the community we are a part of are all turned against us in the end game setting. It can get to the point that people are mushing themselves along like sled dogs attempting to consume digital content with RNG rates and difficulty curves designed to make the small bit of content as time consuming as possible.
Edit: also, anyone worried about guild obligations in game: Unless you personally know the people in the guild in real life or are part of a competition group, all that is going to happen when you leave is everybody else shrugging their shoulders unless you've ran off with the holy grail of drops from the game. Don't get sandwiched into guild politics in an environment where anonymity is the norm.
"Mushing themselves along like sled dogs" LMAO. That was pure awesomeness right there.
On a more serious note, I understand the whole point of well I really don't want to just leave it right now. I think it takes outside diversions to distract us. I think we all were there initially when MMOs were around, now we know when we are done. I think I'm just up and quit nearly every MMO I've played since SWG.
I love Neverwinter. This weeks patch killed pvp for me though. I'm a cleric, and there is NO reason for a cleric to pvp now. I'll PvE but as far as pvp is concerned I'll get that fix somewhere else. This game is now dead to me for pvp.
Umm it took me however long it takes to read the words Cryptic and Perfect World. Thats all it took for me to not play this game let alone waste the time, effort, account creation, or just the plain annoyance that any Craptic, Imperfect World game is.
Star Trek Online...
Champions Online...
Any game created under the umbrella of Perfect World Entertainment...
So a game does get boring after a while. Surprise. Not really something to get angry about though.
As for rewards. Fun should be the reward. All the 'accomplishments' will fade the moment you get bored with the game But you might take fun memories with you.
Every Perfect World game should be played like this, you have fun, you spend no money, and then you move on to the next game. I know from experience, I have several max level character in Champions Online, Neverwinter, Perfect World, and Forsaken World.
Before anyone calls me a locust: I actually do sub games and just pick these up for a couple weeks to break it up a little.

It is fun until level 60.
Just level to max and quit.
