So I heard only 15 people got in and most of them are "AV friendly" types.

    I think AV thought that everyone would jump on the fanboy wagon to compete for MVP access. They thought having players compete in a butt kissing competition would stop the flood of negative posts. It didn't work out that way and AV lost interest in it. That's why the forum didn't go up on schedule. Then people raised hell about it and they reluctantly put them up.

    It was suggested that they add in game polls to get a better idea of what the general population in the game wants. A short while later tasos posted that they were doing polls "soon." That never happened. Instead a few of the dev's buddies get their own private forum. I have also heard that most of the "MVPS" are the real accounts of their forum mods and liaisons.

    I wouldn't waste my breath...er keystrokes explaining what's going on in the MVP forum to anyone that visits this forum.  This forum is just filled with people who want to see this game burn.

    The MVP forums is another facade to give the impression they are doing something, like the Unholy Ban Hammer site. 

    DFUW will bend to whatever Mgame's market dictates.

    I know you have been a long time follower of Darkfall.  The discussions so far in the mvp forum seem to be really focused with lots of feedback from both the players and devs.  What would you do to make Darkfall better?

Mark my words, nothing will come of the MVP forums that wasn't already in the pipeline. Just another carrot to appease the masses and keep them paying a bit longer. You've been around long enough to know AVs tactics, it's been the same BS for years.

    Your preaching to the choir sister.  Look, I love the game Darkfall...not AV.  They made many mistakes and some more than once.  However, I want to see this game succeed because there is nothing else better currently out so I would rather be constructive than destructive.

    The real test is how long it will take for some of the excellent feedback in the MVP forums to be implemented in the game.

    The members are not going to be secret and there will probably be a weekly summary of the discussions on the forums.  I agree with you that there are a lot of good ideas floating around and the issue is the turnaround time for implementation.

    Your naivety after all these years is astounding.  At this point the members are secret although many people have requested the list be made public they have not done so and have not made ANY statement that they would do so.  As far as weekly summaries go where the hell have you been?  They can't even give monthly updates let alone an additional weekly forum update.

     

    The mvp forums are a joke plain and simple, the ONLY person I know who has for sure been admitted has NEVER even played the released DFUW he quit back in beta due to the state of the game and is a giant forum troll.  (I know this for sure, he is a guildy)

     

    I have zero confidence in the mvp forums and so should you.

    +1 - The game concept is great but the investors need to sell it to recoup any chance of money and get a competent dev team to ever make it work.  1 year later after 29 dungeons were ready - how many are in-game?

    I'm confused.  Wasn't that balance patch almost exactly what people wanted for a long time?  I'm guessing there won't be much that is going to make many people happy.  Maybe if I played DFO I would be carrying a torch as well.

     

    I don't really care who got into the MVP forums or what they are discussing.  AV clearly knows what people are bitching about, they are just slow.  Likely due to lack of resources as full loot eliminates 99% of the MMO playerbase.

     

    Edit:  The bottom line is as sandbox players we are going to have to be more patient with these tiny indie companies.  Unfortunately most people want to play boring ass linear quest hub themeparks...that's where all the money and numbers have gone.  Maybe one of these upcoming sandboxes will be more to your liking.  Although I kinda doubt many DF players are even MMO fans at heart, I think a lot of these people are arena PvP only players who couldn't care less about creating a virtual world.

    Just ask some people on the MVP forums whats going on. They aren't as big of a secrete as you make it out to be. Hell, more than likely, one of them is talking to you in this thread.

    Exactly this.

    It baffles me how some people cannot grasp this.

    AV needs zero, null, nada, niente, rien new suggestions right now.

    Because

    a) they are late on many many features/content updates which were "ready" already several months ago.

    Hell, there was an interview in February 2009 where Tasos said that armor dyeing was in the final testing phase.

    and b)

    there have been tons and tons of good suggestions made already in the "suggestions" forums. So even IF AV would have the capability right now to work on new stuff they'd already knew literally for years what peoples ideas and wishes are.

     

    Anyone who falls for the whole MVP forums deception is a naive fool, sorry.

    I fail to see how anyone thinks the MVP is going to change anything.

    I don't know if suggestions are going to work, because let's not forget that AV decided to secretly make a different game while whistling merrily about the DF2010 expansion. Not only that, but they managed to make 1-2 things in the new game and break 20.

    That's not a good track record. DFUW feels shallow, rushed out before its time. And there are plenty of AAA MMOs in the horizon, i don't know if AV will make it.
