How are the 85s being received?

ZorgoZorgo Member UncommonPosts: 2,254

I remember back in EQ days those that bought their toons on ebay gained a bad reputation (not without reason).

In WoW, Death Knights gained a bad reputation, which reminded me of the way people beat up ebayers.

So, I'm curious, is there a similar backlash in game to the new 85s? Or are they being well received, welcomed into guilds gladly, etc.?

Or are people denying them groups and bad-mouthing them in chat, etc?

Or....some of both?

unless players are running SF dungeons

won't be seeing much grouping until 90+ unless you are in a guild

the EQ2 level cap is 95 and DOV dungeons are lvl 90+

Yes, but is there a warm reception or a cold reception or some of both?

Is there a backlash of hate to those who didn't level up the toon from scratch?

    on forums, not well received

in game, i think gamers are ambivalent - i haven't seen much of any backlash

before SOE nerfed the "dungeon maker" dungeons,

I saw players getting fast 90s with max aa in less than 8 hours

Powerleveling is a common practice in EQ2

    While i love mercs

mercs also don't help for learning your class -- mercs put leveling into speed mode

I don't think people really care because hey, at least it means more warm bodies to play with. On the other hand you have players that have no idea how to play their class because they didn't see it grow over 85 levels and EQ2 has a lot of skills you need to come to terms with.

In our guild most new 85s belong to people that already have lower level toons and continues to play them. It is a way to group and see more of the game. So far the reception has been good. But we have none in guild that had not played EQ2 at all before they got the new 85.

Personally I like it its fun with more people.
