Hi,

 

Everyone who plays games theres those nice rules.

Terms of Use ect..

 

But.. are there also rules who apply to Gamehosts?

For example World of Warcraft , Tera , Guildwars 2 , Neverwinter

Is there something like min time to announce a Maintance or uptime ect?

 

If anyone has a clue please let it know :)

    Nope, it's left up to the publisher, developer, hardware leasor, ISP, and all the other entities between you and your game avatar.

    This. It depends on the game publisher. They are not beholden legally to give a minimum amount of server access or announce any maintenance on servers in any advance time.  In the end you are just paying for access to their servers but are not guaranteed service at every hour you want to play.

    Read those rules.

    In them you will find that it is the publisher's game. Your avatar is the publisher's. All of it. They merely allow you to play it.

    If they want/need to close the servers for an update/hotfix/just to be dicks they can at will and for as long as needed.

     

    Online gaming is actually a situation in which the consumer is "not always right", and really doesn't have the rights we commonly assume we have. This is why the long EULA CONTRACT, which it is. When you click "accept" you agree to it and are bound by it.
