Sky Nations the game

Hello readers of mmorpg.com, it is I redcap036, some of you know me, some of you don’t, most of you don’t care, so why am I even bothering to tell you who I am, well because sometimes I post up news about up and coming games which I think you guys would be interested in, which is what I wanted to bring to your attention today, a new game which is in Alpha development called Sky Nations, it’s not quite a full mmorpg or even a mmo by normal standards, it may even look like a Minecraft styled game and you might be right, it is a multiplayer sandbox survival and crafting game with full PvP gameplay at its heart, it does come with some very unique gameplay ideas and even lets you build a few dreams you’ve wish for in the pass from other games.

Ok so how does this game work?

Well you start with a few inventory items one of which is a power well, which when place on the ground and right clicked on will create a small floating raft like craft, once you have managed to get on top of it, you can start to add to it with some thrusters and a control panel, these will let you fly your ship around.

So were flying, next step would be to find some more resources so we can add to the ship and build it into the battleship of your dreams, or maybe the sloop, escort, interceptor etc... It’s up to you what style of Airship you want, open deck or enclosed hull, single seater, full bridge and crew, (you and your friends crewing the whole ship)

What a strange world, you find yourself flying about in, the surface of the planet is covered in deep seas and the only land masses are these strange floating islands or those pillars that tower up out of the oceans, all of which you have to search on for the resources you need.

Now here’s the bit about how this game is almost like an mmo in its own right, when you start this game and try to enter the world for the first time, you have a few choices about what type of game you can have, you can make and join a private server, join the official server, or make your own open server. A seed is used to generate a new world when you make a private or open world server.

Currently it’s not possible to travel between different servers in game, but it is a feature which is planned for the future and if all goes well, will hopefully be added, this works by getting the permission from the admin of the server your trying to travel to and building a link drive, which will let your ship warp to that server.

Watch out for this ship, the MFZ Ivan, my personal destroyer class airship.

Oh… and the game only cost $5 and is only available for Windows, (so far)
