Blizzard practices that blizzard could change to improve the game.

1.  Reducing difficulty of content over time.  Where in the past content difficulty was static and it took many months to complete offering huge adrenalin rushes to players and massive prestige in a virtual world, now we have content that is watered down over time to 'provide access to the masses' .   One of the most damaging practices Blizzard have introduce to gaming, and arguably by any game producer.

Answer : stop lowering difficulty over time and provide real content at the same tier level more regularly (i.e different looking gear at the same tier)

2. Greed.  Blizzard produce content slowly while crippled by balancing problems brought about by a poor design.  All could be solved by investing more of that money they are greedily stockpiling (and now about to pass to another company!)  Think about it, much of the money wow players have paid towards their game is literally being handed over to their parent company to pay of unrelated debts.

Answer : respect their player base, invest far more of their money into the game.

3.  Aiming for every player type and style under the sun.  Aiming for the lowest common denominator (see 1)

Answer :  Stop being motivated purely by money, have a bit of respect for your own brand, game and virtual world.  Have a brillant game that may not appeal to some, but benefits by having a coherent and cohesive direction and approach.
