First and Last

I have noticed that there is some inconsistency in the way moving through boards and threads on these forums is handled. If I am on any given board I see for it's page navigation, numbers (1,2,3,4,5 etc.), "Last", and "Search" as options for page navigation. I clicked "Last" just to see how many pages of topics there are. And, then reailzed that there is no first button after about 30 seconds of searching for it...sure I just hit the back button on my browser... but, I also noticed that with the threads there is no first or last option. There are double chevrons "<<    >>". But, those seem redundant as they move my browser one page forward or back...when I could just click the numbers?

I know this is not majorly important. But, I would be pleased to see some consistency in this. Once you get used to it it is easy enough to use. But, it would be nice if understanding the the navigation at a glance is possible and if that navigation is the same across the site.

Maybe a format more like:       |First|   <<   1,2,3,4,5...   >>   |Last|   |Search|       For all boards and threads?

The First option would take you to the first page.

And, Numbers of pages would be displayed in groups of 5

The double chevrons could move the browser forward or backward by groups of 5.

and ... could indicate there is more to be seen the the direction of the closest double chevrons.

Irrelevant things could be greyed out and unclickable as well.

search is self explanitory.

So, as a set of visual examples, the first page of a board or thread on the forums that has 15 pages would look like this:

|First|   <<   1,2,3,4,5...   >>   |Last|   |Search|

And the second page of a board or thread on the forums that has 15 pages would look like this:

|First|   <<   ...6,7,8,9,10...   >>   |Last|   |Search|

Finaly, the third page of a board or thread on the forums that has 15 pages would look like this:

|First|   <<   ...11,12,13,14,15  >>   |Last|   |Search|
