im looking for a game that combines the territorial strategy of Civ 5 with the detailed city building of something like Grand Ages: Rome.

im not particular about any kind of setting or genre, but i'd really like to be able to zoom in to SimCity 4 levels, have more control over specific building placement, and yet be able to zoom out to a territorial strategy level for resources, exploration, etc.

Try Cicilization V, I think that's quite similar to Rome

thanks for the recc. Civ5 is a great game and its actually what got me to thinking about this.

i want a game that will let me have the grand strategy of a Civ5 but also have the detail to let me actually place buildings and create cities and farms the way i would like to place them.

perhaps what im looking for is something with grand strategy, detailed creation, and open ended.

having written that sentence i have a feeling such a game does not exist.
