You guys are living in the past.In another 2 to 3 years, no new games will be pay to play. Everything is going F2P because empirically it offers more longevity, and thus more money in the long term.

Nah theres tons of f2p games that die...I would argue most if not all f2p games go into cash shop maintenance mode fairly quick after launch...no real motive to do anything else other than offer new must buy items.
Also f2p games always start out with an acceptable cash shop but too often, if not always, the end up as pay 2 win cash sinks.
If in another 2-3 years all mmorpgs go f2p and p2p is dead ill move on to other forms of gaming. Cant stand the cash shop casino, cant stand the fact that no matter how much I pay (often WELL over a $15 sub fee) ill never have access to the full game.
Cant stand the crowd that follows f2p games either. Rip on p2p game communities all you want but f2p is by far worse.
Been though f2p games enough to know what that payment model offers, what it does to developers and development priorities, as well as what the games offer long term.
Yeah this game (while its not a mmorpg) has one of the better cash shops...
Anyone who thinks f2p is better for the consumer is an idiot...its better in some cases for the money grab potential, if not most cases. You can easily put a game into maintenance mode and just update the cash shop, with the cash shop slowly moving in the direct to pay to win. With a p2p if you are not giving content and real updates people get mad for a reason.
Sadly this argument is on deaf ears, far too many kids and unemployed playing that have the time to spam forums all over the place about how every game should be free so they don't have to pay to play...then immediately start bitching about the cash shop once a game goes free...that's really my biggest peeve with this all...its all about complaining for f2p then instantly complaining about the cash shop...its always too expensive, too over powered, too restricting not to use ect.
Just think of how much better PS2 would be if all the cash shop items were obtainable in game for being a good player...sad people are too cheap to be bothered with 50cents a day.
