Convince me to to get this game

in Final Fantasy XIV

I am skeptical its going to be the same Asian mmo ported to western market that we have seen before. that's originaly designed for spoiled rich Asian kids spending 16 hours a day playing. I am not apposed to some  game time as I put in 40 hours a week if I find it enjoyable. But I have been burned before Lineage 1 and 2, Aion Tera ect. Tell me how this is not going to be more of the same?

    Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.

    With you already being skeptical, it's going to take more than words to convince you.  My suggestion is to get a beta key and give it a whirl this weekend.  This weekend will be my third time in beta and i must say that I'm having a good time with it.  I played 1.0 and was skeptical for this version but am glad I'm in beta...I'll be subbing at release.

    It may very well be the only true sub game in existence with no cash shop at all.

    That one reason alone might be enough of a reason to at least give it a try.

    The game stands or fails on it's own try out the beta if you can.  Other then that I will be playing it but since you do not know me why should you care what I think of the game or my opinion?   But honestly if the game can't hook it's self it will prolly not be a long term game for you.

    If you like western games like WoW, EQ2 or lotro than you will prolly like this game

    If you need convincing because you cant be bothered to find out with your own two eyes........

    Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

    Anytime I see a topic title "convince me to play this game" the first and only thing that goes through my mind is go do your own damn research and decide for yourself.

    its a terrible game, dont play it

     

    (actually i like it, but i am not sure if i want to play a game with someone who is unable to make his own mind)
