"My ignorance is better than your science."

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

as an individual I have decided that all guidance re suitable age to play a game is wrong.

As an individual I am happy for my children to play a game where adults enjoy a bit of sexual titillation.

As an adult I will trust a child to make decisions that only an. Adult would have experience at times to make.

As an adult I disregard all informed evaluartion of risk made by the collective expertise in a chosen field.

    That' some adult ^^

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

And you as an adult seem to lack basic reading comprehension because as I said, and will repeat for the third time, that I would let my future kids play any game they desire as long as they first ask permission to do so and if required take the time to talk over the subject matter of the game and if required the type of interpersonal relationships they may develop with other people playing the game. And as an adult I can tell you experts in the realm of sociology are more wrong than right at least as far as studies go and as for psychology that is at best a pseudo-science relying more on personal experience of the certified psychologist than any concrete theories regarding the human psyche.

If you want to believe studies based on imprecise sciences, the numbers given out by a ratings boards whom based their systems on morals and not ethics and your own borked world view that is your own choice but don't kid anyone here, you're leagues older than me and have yet to learn the simple lesson "The more you learn the more you discover that you yet know nothing.".

Still not the worst F2P I've played.  And the reviewer needs to grow thicker skin.  It's not THAT bad.  As someone said, AoC was worse but I guess it's ok because the comics were written back when ogling women was politically correct.

"daddy I want to play this game". Sure, let me first explain what the advert means when it says

    'there is no safe word'

Job done, child us now in an appropriate environment.

I played this game up to level 27. The content is not what made me stop playing. If you don't like PvP the game turns into the typical Korean grind fest. You run out of quests because they are unlocked by level. I was doing ok until level 22 or so. If you don't do the daily PvP quests your advancement comes to a screeching halt.  The graphics are not the best but I have played worse, much worse. The ladies in the game wear more clothes then I have seen women wear at the beach. If it were not for the PvP centric exp gain after level 20. I would still be playing the game. With the crappy, horribad, sanctimonious, review and the reaction for and against it. I am curious about some things.

    1. Those that have come out and said the reviewer was right and the game could not get anymore offensive. How many of them are women or a man with their woman looking over their shoulder?

    2. If it featured homosexuality, would you still be saying it was "offensive" or would you be on the PC band wagon and say hey it's a beautiful thing?

    3. The game requires you to spend real money to basically make the game soft porn. There is no sexual activity. There is innuendo and low brow humor. If you find this game offensive you must find it really hard to watch television programs now days. I have seen the same nudity on prime time and don't have to pay money to see it. I wonder if any of you "offended" individuals are writing letters or protesting your local television stations.

    4. A review is one person's opinion but it is supposed to be unbiased and neutral. Can any one say this review was unbiased and neutral?

I find it completely stupid that she is even reviewing this game if she's going to be offended by nudity. Its like having someone review world of warcraft and they get offended by orcs. Its completely clear what the game is advertising and what its saying it has. You dont go into a game that is blatantly saying what it is and then get offended by it. You accept it for what it is and review it accordingly to the setting of the game.

The game sucked ass but the nudity was not the reason. The nudity was a key feature of the game.

Its almost on par with someone reviewing it who hates leveling up and complaining about having to kill things to level up. You dont judge the game by that. This is completely unprofessional and on par with some sideshow bloggers skill on writing a review. It doesnt belong on a semi reputable website. Or after reading this review perhaps the website isnt as reputable as I once thought it might have been. I give this review a 2/10

The site ads aren't chosen or paid for by the reviewers. Just a bit of useful education for the lowbrow clods that seem to think so....

No such thing as "objective aesthetics", just so you know.
  • furbansfurbans Member UncommonPosts: 968

So the reviewer claims the game is pretty much bug free and complains about bots (which is not a polish factor) but says the UI needs an overhaul (doesn't say why, if UI's have no discrepency and get the job done then it's personal taste) and yet scores a 5.... talked about an f***ed up scoring and biased scoring based on whim.

Not defending the game as I won't touch that hentahi crap, I have the bikini full plate female designs whose design seems to be the kind that probably never goes on a date, addicted to porn, and hasn't been laid in years.

Why are you not more horrified by games that push  the violence of blood and gore that are

so prevalent in games. Write about that, instead of something that has not changed since the beginning of time.

Finally someone else saying it!  You have trouble with the human body and sexuality, but no trouble with all the graphic "Blood and gore and guts" that is depicted in so many MMOs! I have played MMOs exclusively for nearly 13 years now and I am really getting tired of all the killing day after day. Ever since the demise of SWG that is all there has been to do. So please leave those alone that want a little distraction while committing murder, and maybe a good laugh.

OK Now about Scarlet Blade..... !!!!!!

This thread has become a reviewer review and lost track. If anyone has played Scarlet Blade can they tell us what they think of the GAME as I am curious to know what others thought of the game. Others who haven't tried it might like to know :)

  • 43%burnt43%burnt Member UncommonPosts: 162

That was not a review. That was someone who wanted to let people know that he is offended by something. I especially loved the parts with the "interesting concepts" that are brought up several times, but never explained. I didn't actually care about the game, seemed like a one trick pony, but I guess I have to play it now to find out what said interesting concepts are...

And like others also pointed out:

The american's fucked up relationship with sexuality and the human body in general is really baffeling. Kill thousands in graphic detail ? A-Ok. Show a nipple ? OUTRAGE !

    I tried it.

    Typical Asian Grinder MMO.

No male player characters and the women are in typical chain mail bikini armor (Queens Blade kind of armor).

Some classes have more on than others.

Not too bad, just pretty average.

Just by looking around the internet for reviews on the game, they were not that bad.  Most reviews gave it between 3-4 stars out of 5.

Here is just one from N4G

Scarlet Blade kinda reminds me of when Evony first came out.....They also tried the "sex sells" approach and it got alot of people to at least try the game......Had either of these games not used that they probably don't lure in 1/10th of the players they got.....  Unfortunatel;y what we are seeing though is taht companies know they can post a picture of a pretty girl (or cartoonish pretty girl) that is scantilly clad and get alot of attention for their game by doing so.

I agree on the score, but not for the same reasons as the reviewer.

God forbid that you appreciate a nice pair of breasts!

Seriously, if seeing a pair of uncovered breasts gets you this worked up, then maybe YOU are the one who has issues with women and the female form. It's not that big of a deal, YOU are the one making it a big deal. They are just breasts, every woman has them, and getting all worked up about them to me is like shaming real women for having them. Do you go up to girls wearing low cut shirts and tell them to cover up because they are degrading women?

If you have some kind of agenda here to help women with this review, you are doing the absolute complete opposite of that. If you want to help women, don't say that it is "shameful" and "degrading" for a video game to have uncovered breasts in it, you know, those things women have.
