Sony was able to find a sensible, descriptive name for the console that would follow the PlayStation 3. They called it the PlayStation 4. After the PS4 is hugely successful, they'll probably call its successor the PlayStation 5.
Microsoft has had rather more trouble finding a sensible name for their console, however. First there was the Xbox, then the Xbox 360, and now the Xbox One. Because giving the new console the same name that people may have used to refer to the original Xbox that no one wants any more would do a lot to clarify things.
So I thought, where does Microsoft go next after this? Any predictions?

Hey, if you put a rather imba name like Bob up there, it's pretty much a no contest. :P
gameplay > graphics
Really... Your going here .... the X Box has not even been released and you want to know the next ones name? Really?
Is this what we have become ... looking for the next best when the current has not been made current?

I'm pretty sure he's not doing that at all...

Microsoft will finally deal with the pesky crashing issues of their old platforms by replacing the crash indicator with a quick-booting OS that gives you a game of Tetris to play while the rest of the console resets itself.

The purpose of this thread is to ridicule the name "Xbox One" without distractions such as whether the console will be any good or not.
Incidentally, if made by Intel, it would have been the Xbox 2360.
Alot of peoples are already calling the X-box one " X-bone "
does it matter at the end of the day what it's called or do we want good games ?
Useless thread imo
xbox one, what a joke, there want be any more. Microsoft forgot about gaming and decided they wanted to be a cable company. I don't think its going to work for them.
Microsoft conveniently already owns the naming rights to that.

Xbox One Point One. For after the first one crashes and burns, then they make a new one with stuff people want or risk going bankrupt.
Kind of like Windows Vista and Windows 8. They fucked up so bad they had to remake it.
To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.
Looking at their naming conventions thus far:
xbox - probably brainstorming about how their console was an unknown gaming box and not sure what to call it, they circled the word variable on the board on said "x"box.
xbox 360 - wanted to imply that their gaming console was all encompassing and didn't want to compete against ps3 with xbox 2 and sound inferior. 360 fit both roles nicely.
xbox one - now MS has game industry brand recognition, no need for that bigger number. But they wanted to match the idea that it does everything (recurring theme here). I have a feeling that someone pitched a Nintendo style name and called it the Xbox AIO for "All In One" and it was struck down and eventually they settled on Xbox One. Kinda silly, but fortunately for MS, it can be shortened to the much better sounding X1.
So for next gen I can see them keeping Xbox in the name and if they want to continue with the idea of their console being the all encompassing home media unit here are my predictions"
Xbox Home (depending on how well it's received as a home media center)
Xbox Infinity
or if someone goes nuts in the office and accidentally doesn't drink decaf that day:
Xbox AO with Greek letters for Alpha Omega - though this would be hugely arrogant.
Of course all this typing was pointless since I'm just speculating like a bawse and it can be called Xbox Turnip for all I know.
In that vein, it might also be Xbox Unity or Xbox Hub.
..Xbox Date - 'It's everything you want it to be'?
