I hoped to have a discussion about player generated content. I'm for making tools that allows players to add content to the game, but I also understand how easily it is to abuse this. I'm sure there are more types, but the player generated content that comes to mind for me is:
1. Housing
2. Quest creation
3. dungeon design - (only upwards in buildings player created, avoiding issue of digging cross tunnels
I'm trying to figure out how you would make it work. If I could design a quest, I would want elements of intellect and elements of combat and I'd like a reward that's carries my name. How in the world could they give me the tools to do that without my evil twin abusing the heck out of the system.
The only way I could think of would be self funded quests. I can see them making it possible to hire an NPC to give out your quest, give a clue or clues that you want given and then letting you place items somewhere out there. I would do this if I could, because I like quests so well, especially if at the end the successful quest participant gets an item named Asdar's Arm Band or some such.
Anyway, this is something I've always thought could be in games, and that I think I'd enjoy and would make the game better if it wasn't for abuse.
