Your time period to play early is over as this is the general release, so that complaint is pretty invalid.

Well seeing as how I requested mon-wed of work off, yeah thats time I set aside specifically to play this game. And seeing as how today is LAUNCH day I thought I would be doing nothing but playing. Oh wait.

Looks like NW's popularity borked the Cryptic logon servers LOL

    [UPDATE]

    7pm (CEST)

For those asking, the Launcher issues are related to the web hosting of the Launcher page. We're working on redirecting to another page!

Next tweet tells that some players are lucky and are able to logon anyway.

It's not just a launcher / web hosting problem. If you run the game client directly and bypass the launcher you still end up just timing out.

Not a great start but look at the bright side. It shows the game is at least generating a lot of interest.

Thats just foolish then. Have you never participated in any launch day before? And you got what you paid for, your items and your early access. Now is general access. YOU made the decision to take off work, no one else made that for you.

I've been playing all late morning, early afternoon. Servers seem fine. But then again, no one can get in I suppose.

Not really! Their login server infrastructure is crap and always has been.

It was the same thing over and over, when they released new season content for STO.

Players came back to check it out! BOOM! Login server issues and severe lag ingame. Again and again.

So I KNEW this was going to happen. I bought the Guardian pack and played the game the last couple days.

Now I take a break for a week or so... till enough players have gotten fed up trying to get in and the login servers settling down again.

They just have a set number of login servers. That's it! They refuse to expand the number of login servers.

They just tell people they are looking into it, while the truth is that they just wait till enough people get fed up trying and the servers settle down themselves. Just booting up ones that crash.

It has been common practice by Cryptic as long as I can remember. /sigh

    Proof or it never happened...

If you were there during STO launch and STO F2P.... then you got your proof.

If not... ask any STO veteran player and they'll tell you.

As I only mentioned launch and F2P launch.... but it was pretty much with every new Season content release that the servers were crashing again and again.... going through the same issues over and over again. When people came back to try out the new content.

Absolute twaddle, your a jaded biased player who has an axe to grind because someone pinched your favourite plaything. Your not going to be taken seriously when your just pointing fingers and jabbing them into the chest of anyone that may have anything positive to say about a company you so obviously dislike.

However if you DID actually post some hard cold proof then you would be taken seriously.

Dude! Go ask ANY STO veteran and they will tell you the same thing.

Cryptic's login servers CANNOT handle high(er) load! Never have and never will!

I am a STO Vet and didnt have this when the game went F2P nor did i see this when Champions Online went F2P. The only Company I have seen have this problem when one of their games went F2P was NCsoft and the game was Lineage 2. The amount of people coming back crashed the Login Servers NPC Servers and Game Servers.

And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands? Is that the truth?"

Like that's ever going to happen, lmao

Yeah I suppose it's asking a bit much for people to act in a responsible manner, but it's always worth a try. I remain hopefull that someday people will suddenly realise that they're being ripped off and will stop walking blindly into the same traps over and over.

I used to be the same, always getting pre-orders for the new shiney. No more. I need to see a game is worth my cash now. I'm just trying to spread the good word.

I was there at STO launch. I was there when STO went F2P. I was there with practically every new Season content update.

Everytime it was shambles with login servers and horrific lag ingame. Every single time!

STO launch was an absolute dissaster! Login issues and Queue system issues for more than two weeks! With horrific lag ingame.

I cannot believe anyone has already forgotten about that.  This has nothing to do on being on a bashing campain!

As I have forked out cash for the NW Guardian pack and played the last couple days. I knew this was gonna happen today.

So I was already prepared that the game will unplayable for at least a week. So I take a break and come back in a week or so.

So why are people again whining about a Beta version of the game (BETA BETA BETA) having launcher issues due to massive number of logins?

    Did I say it's BETA?

I see it as a good symptom. People can't wait to play this game, which proves huge success. When the game is ready for launch there won't be these problems.

My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.

Ok let me get this straight. You expected this, you knew it would happen and you paid for a founder pack anyway.

    Why?

Because I could see this happening too. Which is why I didn't buy a founders pack. I mean seriously, who pays for a  free game? From Cryptic! And PW!

Why not wait for release, DL the client,  then try it out and see if it's worth your time? Doesn't that make more sense? If you don't want to get caught out in a huge DL queue then do what I did, I got the client days ago. I still can't play, but at least I'm not out of pocket 60 or 200 dollars (pounds really but whatever).

Were those few days of playtime really worth the price of the founders pack? Wake up people!

You took time from work off to play an MMO early before the beta, got to do it, and are now complaining about the release that is standard for release days of every other MMO?

You not only brought this on yourself, but I hope your boss scolds you for taking time off from work for such a trivial matter.

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

Beta? Marketing spin. They have a working cash shop which is open for business and taking in revenue. It's launched, period. It's the same as a subscription game charging $15 a month for Beta, which you'd never sit still for. I already said it once but I'll say it again:

Once a game's business model kicks in and starts to generate revenue, that game is launched. It doesn't matter what the business model is.

But I agree it does show an interest in the game, that's the one positive thing to be taken from this.

Wouldn't be suprised if this was artificially created jsut like purposely limiting the supply of new consoles at launch so they can say look we sold out all over the world in a day!!!

However I don't think that's the case here. It's a F2P game based on a known franchise and that will always attract a load of people wanting to try it without even really knowing much about it.Cryptic shoudl of been prepared with extra hardware and backup plans just in case, they aren't new to this but are pretty cheap heh.

ROFLMAO come on people you havent learned the golden rule yet. ALL MMOs have launch issue you have to give at LEAST a moneth lee way for them to dort out all the unexpected issues and bugs before you can honestly give them shit, now after that the flood gates are open.

now after saying that i do have to say that the fact that its affecting other games, is not acceptable at all.

in the end im not to suprised after the lanch day patch of champions ill never be shocked by anything cryptics dose.

eh oh well i wasnt planning on trying this game out for a few weeks anyway to let the lowbie zone not be flooded anymore and then bugs to be worked out, oh and wait to see what kinda shit is pulled right after lanch

F2P may be the way of the future, but ya know they dont make them like they used toimage
Proper Grammer & spelling are extra, corrections will be LOL at.
