Just skimmed the article, but I've been pointing out for a while now that certain MMOs in particular are perfectly capable of going on indefinitely.  Games like World of Warcraft could literally be going a hundred years from now if they're willing to maintain it.  It makes me sad to see games being written off because they're a few years old when everything about them is capable of being updated.
