Hedonism

We are a small guild on the Ferguson’s Crossing server. Our members are respectful, friendly, and helpful. Our focus is to build a supportive, fun community and we welcome players of all levels and abilities who want to build their GW2 home with us.
You may find our guild grows more slowly than most. For us, building a strong community atmosphere within our guild is more important than rushing in and being the first to conquer everything as quickly as possible. Since we try to make sure all of our members are of a similar mindset, our membership process is sometimes slower than most. But in the long run, this ensures a stronger foundation and loyal and longtime following.
FAQ:
Why the name Hedonism? This is just a game to us, not a way of life. Real life has enough stress and mess and the name is a reminder that the purpose of playing a game is to have fun.

Time Zone? We are an International guild and have players on at ALL hours. Server is NA. Our members are located all around the world, from Chile to Russia, Indonesia to Denmark and Italy to Australia. ALL time zones are welcome to apply.
Currently we are focused on what would typically be lighter hours for most NA guilds. This means all UK/ EU, Australian, Oceanic, India, Japan, Hawaii, EU early birds, NA night owls, we want you! If your play time starts around midnight PST or later, (that's 7am UTC/GMT) we are looking for quality people during these hours especially.
The short version of the following list is that we are basically just a bunch of fun loving people with an aversion to drama.

What we are asking of you:
*Be courteous and respectful to each other and willing to help when someone asks.
*If you sign up for an event with a specific start time, please be focused enough to be prepared and on time, but don’t take yourself so seriously that you can’t laugh when a group wipes.
*Know that everyone has room to learn more (even you and me) and deserves to grow in a supportive environment.
Should go without saying because we are all adults, but here it is anyway:
Respectful language in guild chat and voice chat is a must and extends to grouping with others and map chat while you represent this guild. Your actions reflect on all of us. No hate speech of any kind will be tolerated.
What to expect from the Guild and the Leadership:
*The focus of the guild is PvE and WvW but we will make accommodations for those interested in PvP by sponsoring events both for play and for getting achievements.
*No one wants to make a mistake, but then again, no one is perfect either; therefore it’s important to recognize that and not treat every mistake or innocent comment like the end of the world.
*The rules apply equally to all members. If you feel that there is an issue that requires attention that isn’t being handled properly we encourage you to contact the guild leader personally in whispers or via the Guild website so we can resolve the situation promptly.
*Our long term goal is to build a casual but focused community like we outlined above (respectful, helpful, etc.) whether that community is five people or 500 people isn’t as important as the atmosphere of the guild.
*We want you to play the game the way you want to. Whether you want to get the most awesome gear you can or if you want to spend every day doing jumping puzzles, no one will ever make you feel bad about it.
*Above all, we just want people to have fun.

I am especially interested in adding Aussie and European members (or at least people who play those hours) The bulk of our members are GMT -7 (US PST) and I’d love to have players on 24/7. Additionally we have players who are on late at night (after 11 PM local) and would like to give them more people to chat and run around with.
We have some folks on before noon as well so it would be nice to do the same for them as well.

Just to note to update those who are interested in us.
Yes, we are still recruiting and we have been attempting to fill slots around the clock, beef up up our WvW presence and encouraging curious folks to try out PvP. We are also trying to build a more formal dungeon team so if you are dungeon-centric, now is a good time to come aboard. We are looking for casual, patient, mature individules (we like to help guide new players and help them get their wings) for our dingeon team(s?).

We have players on nearly all hours now and are looking for people in ALL time zones to fill out any light hours (are you listening Early Bird, Night Owl, Australian, New Zealand, Oceanic, and EU players?).
There is still a lot of room for those time periods but NA evenings are nearly full (except Thursday nights- what is up with that?). We want to keep our small guild feel so get in now while you can :-)

EU and Oceanic applications are still open.
If your hours of play begin around GMT/UTC 6:00 and go to around 15:00, we are open to applications, no matter where you are located in the world.
We are still accepting applications for all time zones but, there is a waiting period for NA evenings (5pm to 10pm in zones GMT/UTC -3 to -7) to give us a chance to know each other after a recent surge of new members.
This does not apply to Alaska or Hawaii.
This does not apply to people who are family and friends of current members.

I am slowly opening up NA recruitment once more, though we are coming close to our final cap. The goal is to keep the small guild feel. Even though we currently have 81 members, we are all spread out around the clock so we rarely see more than a dozen people on at any given time.
We are also casual, so not everyone plays every day. This gives us a nice, small family. The forums, chat via our web site and vent are great resources that help us come together even across time zones.
If you are in the "late night" category (all things being relative, of course) we would love to hear from you. We have a small, lose group of people logging on at or around UTC/GMT 7 am and going for about the next 12 hours where our numbers are all over the place right now; for example, there might be 2 people on one night and the next there might be 6. If you have the patience to help us build these times, we would love to hear from you. It's a situation similar to when you are first building a guild, the more you have, the more people are willing to join. It's just a matter of patience and finding quality people who share our vision for a supportive, friendly guild.

Recruiting is still open, There are several more members during Oceanic and EU hours since the last time I updated this info. We've opened up another guild mission and are well on our way to another.
The guild is growing and thriving and we've managed to maintain our small guild feel feel 24/7 with responsible recruiting and looking for good people and trying to know each other instead of just blindly adding pure numbers to the fold. If we sound like a fit, give us a chance to show you what we are all about.
