Job and Class System, dont really get it

ok this is something i dont get

i havent played any alpha or never FF online before but by reading i have some questions

as i understand i can primaly choose a class (archer, warrior, lance etc) and be able to lvl up all classes other than my first and have maximum of 10 skills from other classes at lvl 50

and also when i have Archer level 30 and Conjurer level 15 i can take a job Bard which gives me new skills but lets me take only 5 skills from other classes(cross classing)

if till now i am correct i want to ask, after reading here http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XIV at section Jobs it says "Bard, requires Archer level 30 and Conjurer level 15. Can use Conjurer and Thaumaturge abilities" and also "Dragoon, requires Lancer level 30 and Pugilist level 15. Can use Pugilist and Archer abilities."

i dont get it...so if i am a Dragoon i can use a bow???and if i am a Bard i can use heal and bow?? plz someone help me understand....i wanted to be an archer cause i like long range dps and bard for supporting, but if Dragoon can use a bow to then i want to play him...got confused...

A lot of that information is still a bit incomplete.

But typically your abilities you'll use for anoher Job will just be standard universal abilities that can be applied to just about any weapon within the given guide lines.

Like if you're a Lancer, you can use choice Archer abilities. Those will typically involves damage buffs, accuracy buffs, etc. You will still use a lance.

Like TemperHoof said, some class abilities are exclusive to that class whilst others are allowed to be used by others once learned. The majority of transferable abilities are support and defense oriented, though there are some offensive ones I believe...

Just remember that your equipped weapon defines your class (whilst a soul crystal specialises it into a job once you've unlocked it) so you will never be able to use another class' weapons since doing so would just switch you to that class.

another way to say it is like this

If you play Conj and stop then play Thum you can add spells you learned from Conj to your now Thum and vice versa or

any class abilities like say Ferocity from lancer and add it to Conj (not needed  but you can) where if you were to solo and you got Conj  to 20 and your now playing say Archer lv1 you can add cure( lv5 i think spell ) from Conj to your abilities on Lancer so you can now self cure.

When i played as Lancer and archer i would stack Ferocity and Raging Strike one is a Archer ability the other a Lancer ability Added more power to attacks . Or pop abilities and WS for more damage also . Think of it like this other then Weaponskills You can take any abilities or spells from any class and add them to your current class.

Others have explained it very well.

Not sure if they specified this detail tho: your weapon = your class.  Equipping a bow makes you an archer!  Equipping the lance makes you a lancer.

ok i got it,and what about disciples of hand and disciples of land...its the same like classes?

Disciples of Land and Hand don't have jobs associated with them like the battle classes do, but you still equip a tool in your hand to change to a DoL or DoH and then use their respective interfaces to gather or craft.

There will be an Open Beta Phase, Most like around the End of April, but that depends on how the first few Beta go.

For Non-Legacy Members, there are two subcription Models.

    1 Character per server = $12.99/month

    8 Character per server = $14.99/month

Originally, there was a yearly and 3 month subscription discount that dropped the price down to around $9.99 or something. That has not been announced for ARR as far as I know.

The current beta signups are for people who are not Legacy players, as they get into beta automatically.  So if you apply for beta you have a chance of getting in from the start.
