Once some of these companies discovered that people would pay to get into beta then the "anyone gets into open beta" invitation disappeared...Many companies started giving beta invites in exchange for people pre-ordering the game so it was a way for companies to make money before launch....Its a sad state of affairs and surely has affected many games who go for the quick buck rather than fully testing and trying to find legitimate testers.....ainstead the players that have money win and those that dont dont get into betas anymore.
