Why EQ Next is so important for a new AC

I really hopes EQ Next is successful and brings back the sandbox style to the MMO arena. If this happens I would think WB/Turbine would have to take a long serious look at doing the same for Asheron's Call.
Let's all hope that Sony doesn't botch EQ Next as it is our best chance for the industry to take a major direction change, as well as finally getting an updated Asheron's Call.
