Does the name speak about it?

So the name is Guild Wars 2, I would think there will be lots of guilds competing together. I haven't played the first one, but all i know is there is a lot of instanced pvp. Since the game name seems to be about guilds, i am thinking that the guild system is highly developed and lots of content to it.

A name is jsut a name.  Guilds and Guild functions are highly functional and Guild halls are coming after launch.

As for the instanced PvP comment.  Theres no more then any other themepark game.  The sPvP is indeed instanced but the WvW is not.

This is a video that explains it well... as well. It's not really all about Guilds. It's more about the "Guild Wars."

That playlist by Woodenpotatoes is worth watching by the way if you want to get into the lore as well.

Guild system is highly developed with lots of meat to it and more to come, but that has nothing to do with the name. Guild Wars is an allusion to the lore, a war between ancient guilds. It's not about player guilds, especially since even in the first one you didn't need to be in a guild to participate in the wars (pvp)

They were tossed into the volcano in Ring of Fire Island chain, but with it's erruption four of them were scaterred across Tyria. The fith stayed on the islands.

You run into two of them in Prophecies campaign. One in Maguuma Jungle and the one in RIng of Fire. There is also one you see during Eye of the North, in Bloodstone Caves near Sparkfly Swamp.
