OP does have a point; SWTOR is a conceptual disaster and atotal waste of resources and the StarWars IP.
Id like to see a SWG type of game set back in the Old Republic era.
And ^^^this^^^ is the primary reason I do not put any credibility into these "hate SWTOR" threads. People are upset they didn't get SWG 2 or felt threatened by the monster they fear SWTOR could be.
Most of the early "complaints" about SWTOR have been addressed. No, SWTOR is not a single player MMO...never has been....although some attempt to paint it as such they likely have never played or never attempted to group.
Will SWTOR change over the next 6 to 12 months....yes. MMO's are never stagnant. Content will be added.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if you voice it, do so honestly.
If you feel people are trolling dont attack them just report them.
I do not know for certain that they are "trolling". What I do question is their honesty over the reason they dislike SWTOR and why they post threads such as the one I quoted. I really think that many of these are just people with an agenda that don't have a clue about whatever game they hate upon be it SWTOR or any other.
And, I was not "attacking" anyone. I was calling into account credibility of such posts regardless of the person.
Gee, i simply stated that a Star Wars universe would be better set in a sandbox type of game rateher than in the confined space of a themepark tunnel. And immidiately am jumped on by EA´s fanbois and accused of being a hater and a troller..
SWTOR devs need to do like the SuareEnix devs did with FF14..start over and build SWTOR 2.0.
But but,...if they spent money on correcting their mistakes how will the executives afford their golf games, yachts and high balls around their summer home fireplaces?
They made alot of mistakes with the game, and sure they are having a tiny burst of players still hanging on, but if they delay their developement because of their firing practices and make it take as long as Blizzard takes between content patches people will eventually get tired of it and cancel until they release something and then possibly come back. It's begun, they are on maintenance patch mode.
I actualy expect an NGE to happen to TOR and "to" (key word) all these guys who have held onto TOR with such fortitude. If it's a conversion to F2P or just a large CHANGE to the existing game without F2P, I would expect that they'll try this 1st. And it will be for the same reasoning as the 1st NGE, willing to sacrifice an existing playerbase to have a chance at some playerbase that may or may not ever show. All with the same delusions of grandure and expecting millions of subscriptions to come running at their beckon call.
Dallas Dickerson et al did it before. It is their MO and as they believe, their MMO to do with what-so-ever they will. They followed their SOE Austin teachings very well so far, with the arrogance, "NERF-Wars", closed lips to the community, when they do talk never saying anything, and argueing with their customer base to the point of losing subs. These old NGE devs will probably bring back more, or even ALL, of their previous mistakes before it's all said and done with.
What is that "they" say? "History repeats itself" and "there is nothing new under the sun". This is where I'd place the bet upon.

Sadly, not going to happen. SWTOR is a serious risk of dying on the vine. The company isn't going to keep feeding cash to a product they feel isn't going to produce the results they want. They went for a Grand Slam the first try, they aren't getting another swing.
If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.
D3 was not a good game (imo) but build the right game - and players will come
Yes but lets be honest: They broke that record because of the previous successes with Diablo 1 and 2. Sort of the way Batman Forever sold well initially because of the two previous Burton movies. If there is a Diablo 4, don't expect the same success. I've read way too many complaints on that game to think otherwise.
