Social Hub or City Area?

Is there gonna be a non-combat area with vendors or trading or markets and the like?  Kind of like any major city in WoW or Guild Wars?  Or is this just a very large version of CoD and BF except with no menu or loading screens?

    your social hub is your outfit and cities would be any outpost you capture and hold I guess

    I think there are sanctuary areas that you can fall back to if your faction loses everything on the grid

     

    items/ upgrades are all bought from an ingame menu that you can access from anywhere, so need for shops etc

    There will be no social hubs, or any non-combat major cities. much like planetside 1,  there will not be any trading/crafting/selling of any kind that mirrors traditional mmorpg's or wow in particular.

    What we know so far from the dev's  is that Sanctuary's will be gone in PS2  putting more focus on getting people into the battle more directly,    however will be entry areas for each empire to gather their forces, plan their attack and go forth to take over a continent.

    There's no crafting or vendors like standard MMO's so there's no need for social hubs. Sanctuary has gone from the old PS. Instead each faction has a dome on each continent, the old teleport domes from PS, that cannot be lost. From there it's a case of pushing out and claiming sections of the grid.

     

    Your CoD and BF maps are about the size of a PS2 base, there will be several bases to capture on each continent, plus secondary towers. platforms and resources, all in an area which is 8Km by 8Km, or 64 sq. Km. And there's 3 continents at launch. The only loading screen you'll see is if you jump to another continent.
