Idea: Traits switching with weapons during combat

    The reason I said no, is because with such a system, that changes traits on weapon swap, you would be be able to be extremly specialised on both weapons and not be foreced to do trade-offs in some places so both the weapons you choose are viable. Out of combat having saved trait templates would be nice tho.

    I like the idea of trait shifting for even more flexibility.  Perhaps it could be something you earn the right to do at a certain higher level.  However, I disagree with all the reasoning in this opening paragraph of yours.  One trait set does not make either of your weapon sets less effective.  You have to look at your weapon choices as part of your overall character build.  Neither weapon set should be your *secondary* set.  Your build should be designed around both.  Your traits are designed around both.  They are just  two components to your overall character design.  Also, in no way whatsoever are you discouraged from using your both weapon sets at the moment.  Quite the contrary; if you restrict yourself to only one, regardless of your traits, you will be significantly less effective than if you actively swap to a second set.

    I would like 2 Trait settings tht could be swapped on the fly, but I don't want them associated with weapons. Doing so would limit their use and, thus, be a bad thing.

    I could see a timer on this change, though, to avoid some possible abuses.

    I was thinking something similar where 1 of the 5 trait lines changed with weapon swapping (for Engineer, kit swapping; for Elementalist, attunement swapping).  They'd have to suffle/redo/add a lot of traits though.
