Steam: what to buy?

MightyBeeMightyBee Member Posts: 43

Me has a 50 Euro worth Paysafecard as a present for my final exam (which I haven't passed yet, lol).

I plan to buy some new games but I don't know what would make me happy. What are you playing now?

There was the Game of Thrones RPG coming out soon. Maybe I'd go for that. After the exam, of course.

Not an MMO but I just bought Mount and blade warband last month. Loving it!

Purchase Mount & Blade: Warband for the excellent campaign; stay for the awesome multiplayer mods such as cRPG.

Here are some interesting games that I hear/are good:

    - Amnesia: The Dark Descent

    - Paradox Interactive games (Europa Universalis 3, Hearts of Iron 3, Victoria II)

    - ARMA 2 Combined Operations for the Day Z mod

    - The Walking Dead

Only game I haven't played is The Walking Dead.

    Currently Playing:
    nothing :(

make sure to see/read a review for that game of thrones game because it's really not worth your money.

I would recommend Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery & Limbo. Max Payne 3 is also coming out soon on pc, right? There's also a great F2P on steam called Alien Swarm if you have some friends you can play with.

    Thank you all!

I've been thinking of Amnesia too. My friend liked it very much.

The Walking Dead sounds like killing the zombies - hell yeah! Might be fun.

I've read a couple of Game of Thrones discussions here and in some other forums and decided not to buy it. But I must admit - the temptation was big. I love the books and the series so I hoped the game would be nice.

Phew. And now - forget the games and learn for the next exam!

I'd wait for the next big steam sale, 50 Euros will get you a good chunk of games then.

Should be around 25 Euro, its epic :)

So many awesome games on steam really its hard to suggest some..

Endless space - If you like space empire building games like the Master of Orion series you will love this. Pre-Purchase to gain access to the alpha version.. but its not like any alpha test I have ever played as the game works perfect LOL £17.99 on steam at the moment.

The Walking Dead - Graphic adventure/horror game i guess. If you enjoyed the old style adventrue/puzzle games you will liek this. Not much action in it as such but the story is good. £20.99 on steam

Crysis 2 Maximum edition - Awesome FPS, maybe not as good as the first but one of the best from last year thats for sure. £24.99

I guess it all depends what games you already own :)

I think you are referring to the game of thrones game that is already out.  .maybe not the new PRG. . although it could end up just as bad.

Save your money for the Steam Christmas Deals.

You can buy a lot of games that can last you for 1 year.

I always buy my games on that week deals.

Most of the GOTY will be dirt cheap.

Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :)

Steam has a lot to do with me dropping out of the 'shiny new launch must buy it' mentallity because of this very reason, and for that I thank it.

I found myself just buying and playing games that appealed rather then because of the hype.

I now ignore the release zerg and wait until the GOTY sales you talk about here and play what I consider to be the real full version of the game, not a chopped up one that is half missing because they want to sell me DLC. And it's cheaper then buying the release version!

    <3 Steam

If you're still looking for more games, be sure to grab Deus Ex Human Revolution. The whole series are 75% off this weekend. Those games are worth the full price.
