I'm sure this has been answered, but I'm not able to find a clear answer.
Is the star rating next to my avatar measured by the cumulative number of posts I make over x period of time, or is it reduced only when I act like a Mad Hatter. Which is only every other day. In fact my rank should be "Mad Hat." 
No seriously. Just curious as to how that works.
